You're in for a world of hurt next season. There's a reason we are dead bottom this year and it isn't because of not having a home crowd.

The only team I can see competing with us for the spoon next year is NM.
So you are in the camp that believe a 40K one eyed Home Crowd makes no differance to a team.

Fair enough ... we will see .

I tipped us to finish 12-15th in 2018 .... 13th-16th in 2019 and 18th in 2020 so my form line in judging where we are at is pretty strong .

I see us finishing 16-18th in 2021 but would have us as favorites to finish with another spoon .

As far as other teams that have not bottomed out , North have had huge amount of injuries to star players this year , Hawthorn are a possibility to slide again but they also have Clarko in charge . Essendon and Sydney could well slide some more but i actually think the Swans will improve next season . Both Gold Coast and Freo are on the improve .
Yeah I don't see Sydney or the Sun's slipping at all. Hawthorn I think will fall, and the Clarko exit will become a sideshow and get messy.

North look like they're going to go down our path after being overly optimistic with the state of their list.

We will/should be better, but you're right in having us spoon favourites.

Ok , who finishes below us next season ?
North, Hawks, Swans, Maybe Essendon, Melborne, Carlton (which will cause a stir in some areas), Only team in the bottom 6 I see improving greatly next year is Gold Coast, And I can see Freo improving also due to there home ground advatage.

It is certainly not with any glee .

Agreed that we will be better and that is all i am looking for ... next season is a laying strong foundations for the future kind of year .

We will show more consistent patches of our intended game style , youth will improve and most importantly we will have a much better idea where most of our kids are truly at .

I certainly do not see us winning more than 5-6 games ... IMO it will likely be between 3 and 5 and we will be bottom 2 .

Let's leave it with this ... check back with you in 12 months .

Sydney will definitely improve. Should be pushing for finals.

We have won 1 game in our last 18 ... BTW you should edit that disgustingly written pile of of sh.IT .
Thanks I always attempt to Edit any shit I write, But thanks for the reminder,
Also Don't give a shit about Last year Win /Lost as it was a differant Coach and Structure and team mentality, so I look at the 13 losses this year and showing some improvement as the year progress, seeing how the players react,

I also understand the differance between playing kids in an empty stadium compared to playing them in a stadium filled with 40K one eye supporters.

The question is are we going to get worse ?? You'd certainly hope not. If we win 1 of our remaining games we finish 1 win behind 17th in what has been our most diabolical of seasons.

We have a lot of work to do still, but other clubs still have a way to fall.

I think it's safe to assume we won't get worse. We are surely at the point where its easier to improve by accident then it is to keep digging.

I'm an optimistic guy

Different year, hopefully not the implications of Covid ......was always going to be a horrid year for young teams

We're now seeing a few Coaches in pressers talking about the difficulties of no full ground team training

2-10 to finish 2019. What we've dished up wasn't an aberration. It's practically our 2019 form line after the bye.

I do think we'll improve, just because of the aforementioned it's hard to get worse part, especially if we clean out a lot of the dead-wood in our off-field part. It's just we are that far behind every club in the league right now that it's probably not realistic to expect us to finish anywhere but 18th in 2021. It's probably going to take another club imploding, though there is certainly a standout candidate for that at the moment with Hawthorn.

The progress made in the last 3 weeks, to me shows the players are starting to gel with Nicks gameplan

Matt Crouch has changed his gamestyle 180 degrees ......Brad was our largest mtrs carried last week (400+ mtrs), normally a handballing player

So it's starting to gel ....we're competing, so no it's vastly different to post byes 2019, where we basically were noncompetitive due no desire

Arguably the home ground advantage is more there is no disruption to your routines, being able to sleep in your bed and you are more acclimatised to the conditions/ground compared to your opponent. The 40k home-crowd most likely doesn't make anywhere near the difference that you're attributing it too.

Especially not one that overcomes how bad we've been this year.

And Brad is gone this off-season.

I agree, it's starting to gel. That said, there are growing pains to it gelling, and we don't know how well going back to having to play 20 min quarters in 2021 will impact it gelling. After all, that'll require more fitness and we're already playing catch up in that regard as an issue. I suspect you're a season ahead of where we are at.

Ask the players they seem to have a differant view about the differance between playing infront of a 40K one eyed crowd,
Yes after a period it may become the norm, but when your Playing Kids and newcomers they the Players mention its uplifting.
To me it like getting close to a finishing line and hearing and feeling the support of the Crowd you find an extra leg.

Our problem in 2021 will continue to be depth, particularly with lists being reduced ......injuries to experienced players will decimate us

Even then, as you say, improvement isn't linear ......young players will need another season to have a solid fitness base .....you may be right being a year early, but I'd suggest Nicks will seek an improvement in ladder position

Jones, McHenry, Fog will be much better next year, fitness wise (strength)

I never said it makes no difference, but to think it will make as big of a difference as what as others do is ridiculous.

Are you trying to tell me we will go from a team that has been scored against at a ratio of almost 1:2 (over shortened quarters mind you) will suddenly start playing well because the crowd is cheering for them?

We have averaged about 5-6 goals a game over the course of this year. Can't see how a crowd will suddenly improve that, sorry.

Crowd probably gets us the win against Sydney, and a full crowd probably the win against Essendon.

Still leaves us bottom on percentage

No I am Saying with Home Ground Advatage which includes a 40K crowd some of those Loses we Had could have been Differant,
I am Saying with Home Ground Advatage plus 40K crowds the Crows will not finish Bottom of the table in 2021, and will win 4-5 Games more if luck on our side, which means we don't come last.

I could see hawthorn tanking for a strong draft hand. They have done so previously

Personally I think you are over estimating us.
We have a very young and unproven squad.
Could see us finishing below most of those teams.

I reckon we'll be above the first 2, but that might be it unless someone has a bad year.

Essendon most likely

Yup. There isn't many teams I'm confident in finishing above, seeing we're probably even with North at the moment in terms of list quality.
