Both good players. Seems a heavy loading to Johnson though and I don't see why. At Collingwood I'd take Yze right now for his finishing.

Probably JJ's hardness has impressed a lot of people Mark.

As Rex would say though: IT'S OOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR

How many of these people on this post actually support the bombers? I have noticed a lot of the issues concerning player Vs player tend to involve bomber players, and mysteriously the bomber player comes out on top! Seriously, Yze has just come off an average year and if the same question was asked this time last year Yze would be head and shoulders above Johnson. 'Which one' was the question, well what do you want? A hard in and under player or a fast running skillful midfielder? Different players, different strengths. But it ain't oooooovvvvvveeerrrrrr, that's for sure.

Its not just the hardness, but also his ability to win his own ball that I think puts Johnson ahead.

In a good team that is travelling well, Yze is a fine player. However I am yet to see him stand up in games that count, or when the Dees are struggling.

Ability to win his own ball, but then can he do what Yze does with it? Yze ain't bad at getting the ball either, not so much the hard ball gets like Johnson but they're not all receiving possessions either. Stand up in games that count? Are you serious? 2002 had some fairly important games for us, all the way to the semi finals. What did Yze finish in the Brownlow that year? 2000 also had some important games to. Do you suffer from short term memory loss?

Take a deep breath there and try and be calm.

Read what I wrote again. IMO, and remember its just that, I think he does well when the team is doing well, but struggles to have an influence otherwise.

You disagree and thats fine.

There seem to be a lot of Demon and Bummer supporters debating this, time for a non-biased opinion from an opposition supporter:

Yze, IMO, is the better player. Given a choice of the two Yze would be my choice as he has the better skills and match winning ability. I find Johnson to be a bit rough around the edges, a no frills type who goes in hard but will never be a star, just a good ordinary player. Handy to have, every side needs one, but Yze has star capabilites and will influence a match more.
