Traded Jesse Hogan [traded with #65 to Fremantle for #6 and #23]

Sorry I just buy this whole "must be more to it", they get him over to tour facilities, put him through a medical and then offered a ridiculous low bid for pick 11 and a 2nd round next year ... why bloody offer that at all if he has so called "failed" a medical. I dont buy it, Freo have just wasted everyone's time IMO key power forwards just dont fall into your lap.

Freo are clearly annoyed and want maximum for Neale and give nothing for Hogan. Living in fantasy land down at Freo
Freo just spewed all over themselves

Jesse Hogan will go into next year knowing the dees wanted to flip him and try take advantage of his delicate situation. He won’t resign and he’ll most likely leave next season. Probably not to Freo but still.

LOL, keep believing that if it helps you sleeping at night. The club said to him from the start that their preference was for him to stay, Hogan was the one who went to the club and suggested the move may be an option

Inb4 we re-start negotiations next wednesday.

You'd be lucky if Hogan agrees to deal with your club ever again. He would be pissed right off.

Absolute rabble, no wonder Neale wants to get the hell out of the club, Freo for years have played the "we want to get good home talent back into our team" line and when they finally do they trip over their own feet.

Unbelieveable !!

Every player in the competition will go into next year knowing Freo aren’t willing to bring you in at a reasonable price even if they chase you for half a decade and offer millions...

Well that's why I mentioned Duggan. I think Melbourne would be open to one of West Coast's Victorian players, or maybe a 3-way deal for something.

Fremantle missed out because Peter Bell has become the new Dodoro. If West Coast were somehow prepared to make a fair and respectable offer, I think Melbourne would accept and Hogan would gladly go there. He would be filthy with Fremantle now.
Still don't see how WC would satisfy Melbourne with the picks we have.

I actually think Melbourne (not you as a supporter) have a hard on for May and have made thag quite clear. Everyone outside of Melbourne can also see you are much stronger with May in and Hogan out.

And Freo know that. Thats why they can drive a hard bargain. High risk move but I reckon Melbourne will cave to get May otherwise he going to Pies which they dont want
The sticking point is whether Hogan plans on leaving next year. If he does, Melbourne run the risk of Collingwood swooping in next year and taking May. There is every chance Melbourne lose Hogan next year and don't get May. I don't think the Pies have the currency to get a deal done this year but Melbourne will would if they offloaded Hogan. Anyway I'm dissapointed weve supposedly pulled out, Trade week isn't over yet.

It's just that I know some WCE will say they're fine for Kennedy's successor, and that those two will be 700+ goal champions.
I doubt that will be the case, but Brander looks a good prospect at either end. As the year progressed Oscar Allen really started looking the goods and I think he'll be an excellent player. It's too early to compare them to Hogan, but Allen will at least compete IMO.

Why do people think injuries and recoveries are a black or white thing?

Nobody knows how players will recover from an injury like this.

There’s clearly a genuine risk there. Therefore Freo will take a risk, but are only willing to offer less and aren’t willing to pay a huge price such as multiple first rounders. It’s just basic common sense.

He might come good, there’s clearly a good chance he won’t.

Pick 11 and a second rounder next year ??? So your telling me if Essendon had Hogan and the Dockers offered your team that you would jump at it ??? Get real

Also if that is the reason why they have decided to stop chasing him, then just bloody say it .. dont bullshit everyone and say they did "Due Diligence" FFS piss weak from the Dockers

Not at all. It lines up perfectly with why Melbourne are finally willing to ship him after so many years of fighting off all comers.

The foot is clearly a very, very risky proposition.
Doubt the foot is a big issue. They caught it early, he's already walking and will be back running soon. Half the league has had stress injuries at some stage of their career.

Melbourne are willing to trade him because Weideman is or will be ready and May is available. The forward line can function without him, the backline can get a huge upgrade.

Freo don't want to give more than they have to because they know Melbourne are keen to move him. As good as Hogan already is (31 goals, 8 marks a game in his first 11 this year) and as good as he could still be (70 goals if he's the focal point) he's not the kind of transcendent superstar that you don't trade.

What? Are you suggesting Peter Bell is dicking Melbourne around for fun? The 11 + Second Rounder offer was already reported as a 'final offer', and now Bell has announced Fremantle are pulling out.

They're not coming back.

Reported by one media person who jumped the gun. We don’t have any other picks to use yet.

Wait for Neale to get done then see what happens

Not sure why people are so down on Freo. They’re negotiating. I bet most of us have looked at a used car, taken it out for a test drive, sat down with the salesman to talk turkey and then threatened to walk out over $500-$1000?

This is a team that’s been ridiculed for bad trade deals over their history, of course they’re going to drive a hard bargain, I’d expect nothing less if I was a Freo member.

It’s in Melbourne’s court now, they’ll either cave and accept Freo’s offer because they’re scared of missing May, or they’ll come back with a revised asking price or they’ll in turn call Freo’s bluff and just walk away with Hogan still a Demon.

I don’t agree that just because they’ve long coveted having Hogan in their team Freo now need to cough up everything Melbourne demands. Let Melbourne stew over it for a few days and I bet a compromise can be found.

4 years ago Collingwood said pick 5 and 25 wasn’t enough from Brisbane and actually sent an email to members on Friday afternoon that they were ceasing any negotiations with Brisbane on Beams. Lo and behold, Brisbane coughed up Jack Crisp a few days later. It’s posturing. I expect better from Sam Edmund and co. They know how this stuff works.

Peter Bell came out and categorically said Fremantle have PULLED OUT.

It's time to let go.

What's the bet this is just a dumb bluff and as a result, Fremantle fold and offer pick 5 (for Neale) and future 1st rounder.

Pretty silly bluff. So I doubt it would be a bluff. Good for Demon fans though. If Hogan liked Fremantle, well, he probably won't be too fond of them now - given they didn't rate him very highly. Maybe Tabener can do a Bikkie Tin Blue and be a revelation. But I doubt it. McCarthy looks a shadow of himself as well. Its going to get painful now for Fremantle. I'd advise them not to trade away their future first round pick. It will probably be pick 1.

Or Hogan knows that we wouldn’t burn the future for anyone and Melbourne were being unreasonable in their request. As is their right. But it’s ours too to walk away.

Would hogan wanna play for a team with no picks and that doesn’t play finals for years to come?

My god i am going to laugh, cry with laughter even, if a year from now Hogan requests a trade to WA that the west coast eagles are able to satisfy.

The tears would be so great from Fremantle fans there would be flooding on the western seaboard
