I do not care about the score i just want effort every goal they score to be hard earnt not a freaking waltz into the goalscore or over the top easy goals . Physicality tackling and perceived pressure is what id like to see . Full dress rehearsal for rd 1 effort .

I'd love a win but what I'd like to see is some bloody passion!! I love watching simo, every time his player or any opposition player for that matter kicks a goal or gets free you can see how utterly dirty/angry/annoyed he is! I love it. Shows how much he cares. Just play with passion and pride in the jumper and the result will look after itself.

Fair point but probably to work on his set objectives in the 2s. No worry Cunners will have plenty of opportunity if he ticks the right boxes.

In my opinion our list is severely unbalanced. We have far too many tall defenders on our list now. We currently have Jaksch, Rowe, Macreadie, Silvagni, Weitering, Marchbank. Thats 6 key defenders or KPP. Include players like Gorringe, Phillips, Mackay, Casboult, Jones, Korcheck and Kreuzer.

Thats 13 players on our list that are KPP. Compare that with the Dogs or Swans? Our midfield is severely depleted. We only have Murphy, Gibbs, Petrevski Seton, Curnow, Cripps, Fisher, Graham, Cunningham, Palmer perhaps Kerridge thats only 9/10 players on our entire list. We will most likely delist Graham, Kerridge, Palmer at years end and Murphy will be pushing 30.

We recruited Marchbank, macreadie and Silvagni in the last draft.
Have we gone overboard in recruiting defenders? Our midfield severely lacks depth and quality.
Midfielders should be an urgent priority.

That's why Weitering has to play fwd

Yes and No, we need at least x1 more mid.small rebounding defender.

Simpson - is 33+ so the end is nigh
Doc - star
Byrne - possible very good player / star but off a knee
Sheehan - 26 and has only played a few games and has missed a lot of football
Bucks - jury still out on him in a big way

Nah, he's ok in a tagging role. Has versatility to match up on taller mids and provides a bit of mongrel. You need someone who's willing to throw a few jumper punches and not worry about missing a week here and there.

Im not a jaksch fan but i think your selling his performances in the twos last year a little short there . Hes had some pretty good form to go by last year yes ? . Of the players you have mentioned both Macreadie and Mckay have been elevated to the senior side with absolutely no solid form in the reserves to earn such an elevation yet they have been preferred over jaksch . Macreadie has just arrived at the club and hes in and whilst i like the kid should he earn a spot before jaksch at this stage ? There are plenty of other examples throughout the 2 jlt games of players off no form because they have just arrived at the club getting games polson pickett to name 2 . Obviously there is something amiss here but if the club arent even going to give him a jlt game then i dont see the point why we retained him on the list for this year . Maybe he should have been delisted and another side pick him up as a DFA and see what they can do with him ? Imo right now we are doing him a disservice no matter what the issue is . Will be interesting to see what happens here if he does string some good form together in the twos to start the year .

Where do you get that these guys have no form?
They have an entire preseason of form. If they have put in the bigger miles in preseason and worked harder they absolutely deserve there chance.
No player deserves a run just because they have been keeping the seat warmer for longer.
