Yup, I’ve revised my thinking since that post because Parker is looking more likely for us.

Since Richmond has a smorgasbord of late picks they won’t use, I wouldn’t mind trading our 2 and f2 for picks 6, 13, 39 and 41, if it means we can get two of Richards, Rosas, Macrae, Daniel, or Owies with the latter two picks

You need to improve your forwardline. that much is clear. He would help you a great deal

I think that contract puts us in the box seat. A 3 year offer means that he either signs with us or we can at least get a good deal from Port. If he picks Port and the negotiations get towards the end of the trade period then he will probably just re-sign with Collingwood. A pick in the 70s won't cut it. Why should we fix a weakness in a good side like Port for a nothing pick.

Agreed. Not that we'd have much chance but if I was WCE, I'd have a 5 year/650k deal in front of him.

For me it’s especially surprising that no other vic clubs are putting in offers

Gives him another alternative to stay at home and get more game time instead of relocating

The relevance is that the issue clearly isn’t the value the Pies place ahead of him. It’s his own sense of job security.

Late 2nd, a pick around 40 on draft night. But hoping he will be part of the Houston deal. If they offer a pick in the 60 to 70s we will wait and hope he signs the 3 year deal we have for him. I think with our deal in place Port come to the party.

Have a look at the highlights of our games against WC (R9) and Freo (R11) or the whole games if you’re especially keen or bored in the off season. It’s what must have caught the eyes of your recruiters. Very smart user of the footy, good vision, good skills, knows how to find the ball on the wing and half forward but to the advantage of his teammates. Can’t remember exactly but he had 15 score involvements across both games and reckon at least 4 were direct goal assists.

Edit: not to mention 20d/1g avg across both.

Fly is a likeable guy and he doesn’t do much wrong but this rubbed me up the wrong way a bit.

You’ve got a bloke you know is weighing up his future and to so publicly put him under pressure like that isn’t great form.

Doubt it made a difference in his decision and I haven’t heard it so it might’ve been tongue in cheek but it doesn’t sit right with me
