John Winston Howard - what is his legacy?

Entrenching the wedge and culture wars in politics.

Designing referendums to lose?

The karma is the wedge politics have made his party very lazy and incompetent. The very opposite of the aspirationals they feign to represent.

Now some of there ‘better educated’ voters are waking up to this, they are now the enemy ‘inner city elites’. All the while being funded by elites.

This is Howard's enduring legacy to the Australian people:

The tacit support and mainstreaming of a racist ignorant bigot who remains as a dark stain on our Federal Parliament.

And she was at it again today:

And supporting alleged multiple rapist former Liberal staffer Bruce Lehrmann in another incoherent slurred speech.

You could find something better than that… there was nothing racist in what she said about good old senator faruqi.. no mention of her colour or race…

So for the first time in her career she wasn't being racist and she was just offering a Pakistani Australian Senator who she's made slurs about in the past a friendly ride to Canberra airport? That's your contention?

Classic Australian racism. No sheets or burning crosses, just the determination to excuse the behaviour of someone like Hanson on the grounds that it wasn't explicitly racist despite the intent being plain as day.

So now it’s not what people say it’s intent… her intent may have been to simply wave her off on a holiday and offered to be her Uber driver.

For some reason that greens senator hates everything about the country she has come to so maybe it’s doing her a favour by letting her leave…

and in your balance of probabilities assessment, where do you land?

her intent

The intent of Pauline Hanson has NEVER been in doubt.

As was the intent of John Winston Howard in enabling her and those who followed in his footsteps to applaud her her racist intent

All put there by voters who continue to live the lie they didn't and still don't know what her intent was. And is.

Pauline Hanson is a straight up racist.

And you defending her tells us everything we need to know about you.

I liked his new teeth.
And his morning power walk.
And that rising ball that nearly smashed his new teeth.

So what did Faruqi say that got the one neuron leader so worked up?

And why is she so easily baited?

It's not just what "others" say that triggers Hanson... for her it's enough that they look different, like "foreigners" who haven't assimilated. (She uses that word I suspect without really understanding what it even means. Not the only word she uses that falls into that category. 😆)

Actually it was labor before howard that provided optarse, the gift which keeps on giving

I hear the ceo wants to compensate customers with ‘extra data allowance’ which is smoke and mirrors anyway

Laughable. Over 3 decades in australia and still shit. We go on about Chinese but this is owned by Singapore telecom

Even before Optus switched on, due to Telstea owning the physical infrastructure, Optus were given permission to run their lines lower on the pole network - and butcher millions of mature trees across the country for clearance. Environmental vandalism under the auspices of the federal govt.

There must've been some provocation.

I'm just curious if Faruqi provoked her directly, can't find anything.

Rubbish.

Because this is not a new attack from Hanson on Senator Faruqi whose Pakistan heritage and Islamic faith Hanson finds deeply troubling. (hint - google the bolded words - it really isn't that hard)

In short, Hanson will use any excuse to platform her hateful xenophobia and I don't think this thread should be sidetracked to provide another.
