I would go for either Griffin or hamish macintosh provided he is over his injuries.

West or Simpson yes, but don't you dare mention the third bloke's name. Even Wood could destroy him in the ruck.
Perhaps even 5th behind Simpson? my point is, blake hasnt shown to be anywhere near 1st ruck ability. This isnt new news to anyone, and in fact if another club who had needed a number 1 ruck in the past few years i.e hawthorn/richmond/bulldogs (now that hudson has retired), hasnt been all that interested in Blake then why should we give him a second glance?
There are better, more talented ruckmen out there with more upside than Blake, and we have one of them currently on our list in Cam Wood
He has shown 1st ruck ability. He played as our #1 ruck for large part of the 2009 and 2010 season and needs 1 more game to have played 100 games for the Cats. There aren't too many better tap ruck men out there, there aren't too many ruck men who are worse around the ground though, and this is what has kept Blake out of the side since Scott has taken over the reins. If you're after a ruck man that's going to give your on-ballers first chance at the ball at stoppages then Blake would be a good choice, if you're after a ruck man that's going to be useful as a link up player or crash packs in your forward line then look somewhere else
RUMOUR IS DEAD.
Jolly just said on the live stream he pulled up a little sore, no off season surgery and he is looking forward to next year.

Actually he pumped Wood up, said that if he can develop his goal kicking he could fill the gap left by Leroy easilyWith Jolly saying that it really does leave Wood in no mans land
Yeah, I actually thought he may have given us a suggestion about what is planned for Wood.Actually he pumped Wood up, said that if he can develop his goal kicking he could fill the gap left by Leroy easily
Jolly had nothing to do with us making a GF this year and he had even less to do with us being a quarter away from the Flag.
No need to panic.
Lets not forget Jolly said he was right to play the GF and it took Ottens all of about 5 seconds to debunk that myth.
I haven't seen much of Wood, but if he's not up to carrying the #1 spot if Jolly goes down (which lets face it is a real possibility) it'd be in your best interest to pick up a decent back up ruckman just for insurance purposes. You'd do far worse than Seaby as a backup ruck. The only reason he can't get a game for Sydney is because Mumford's such a gun. Seaby's a serviceable #1 ruckman, who can do a bit around the ground, take marks etc. But is relatively useless as a backup/2nd option ruckman. He'd come cheap as well as Sydney would want to do the right thing by him and trade him for more opportunity.
and were overrun in the last 25 mins of one of the greatest GF's of all time. we actually played our best footy this year with wood in the side - the continual lack of faith in this bloke astounds me, with some even suggesting he is trade bait. he will be our no. 1 ruckman come sept 2012 and people will be talking about him as one of the surprises of 2012. bookmark it
Scenario, we are the number one/slash two club in the league. We place Wood on the open market. Honestly and be brutally honest, how many clubs (besides GWS and the other) would even consider him?
