hi guys this maybe a dumb question but can we talk to nth, dogs and whoever is third in the pre season draft and ask them are they happy to leave dawson to us at pick four. is there something as honour amongst thieves in this situation or is this just fantasy.

That would be borderline tampering... only victorian clubs and clubs with 900 first round academy players get that option.

As I understand it GCS and Collingwood are (or will be) under a bit of a salary cap squeeze and will not be able to afford a player of that calibre for that price, let alone take a risk on some one that doesn't want to be there (GC have enough of those listed).

North Melbourne is a risk. It might come down to how early a deal gets done for CCJ. Would they would want to take an expensive player that doesn’t want to be there when they have the pick of the remaining players?

I think it is worth risking losing him if you feel, after discussions with the clubs with picks before us, they will not 'screw you over'.
