It's honestly not a Doomsday situation with us. De Goey hadn't been incredibly influential before last night and we have Elliott who we can return to the forward line.

To replace De Goey/Elliott's midfield influence we have Sier who can come in and Sidebottom due back in a fortnight. It's obviously not ideal but we don't need to be tearing our hair out over it.

Very true but geeze we due for some luck on injury/suspensions. Let’s hope we get all the bad luck out of way and make top 4 with players available.

Applebee’s form in scratch matches looks promising.

Just going to have to keep stifling teams to 5 goals or less. Strap yourselves in.

Exactly, our defence has been the major reason we are currently 2nd on the ladder. We strangle teams to limited inside F50's, to the point where it is unlikely that team will score enough to win.We keep our defence together, l think we are still very hard to beat.
JDG was very good last night, but until then his season has been average at best, and we have won games with limited influence from him prior to last night.
We just stick Stephenson back inside F50, we have Mihocek there, Cox probably back in now, Thomas may get the call up, WHE to step up, maybe put Varcoe back inside F50, we could take Billy Elliott out of the midfield and back to permanent F50, and recall Sier and plonk in the middle.
We have options guys, we have depth, and l still think we are the side to beat.

Ok so this is the first sentence of that chick Jessica Hallorans article from about 2 hrs ago.

Seven Network broadcaster Bruce McAvaney’s choice of words can be forgiven, but the AFL can’t be for doing nothing about alleged sex offender Jordan De Goey.

Amazes me how people can get away with writing sh*t like that.

This infuriates me. So a person should lose their whole career based on charges? He hasn’t been proven to be guilty yet. Ffs.

Dr Google says 12 weeks plus for this type of injury and unlikely to ever regain 100% functionality

I've read 2 mths. Ffs. Just gotta get on with it.

Continue doing what we've doing the last coupla.. that unpredictability.. let players roam around the pitch like grasshopper re..

Hopefully Bucks doesn't go back into his shell again.. you only need to look at WHE to understand that he's not a bad player.. he's always had f good electricity re.. if Bucks moves back to that sideways shit.. just look for WHE in a disappearing act role.

Get the wins on the board re Pies.. and we'll see you back soon when the whips are cracking re Goo.

This was just a bad luck injury obviously. He did well to play with the injury, plus get us over the line!!
Hopefully it's a month out, and in the meantime others have to step up to the plate.
Looks like Elliott's days in the midfield may be stiffled temporarily.

Unless we bring Appelby in

Our club is hilarious. You really do have to laugh. It's never Atu or Callum or Thomas. Nope- it's DeGoey, Reid ( at his peak) Elliott at his peak, Stevenson, Sidebottom, Beams ( at his peak) Adams and Treloar. They are the players we continue to lose for huge chunks of seasons. Give up Pies. It's not meant to be. I heard up to 8 weeks so I don't know where optimists are pulling a week or two.
He'll probably be back just in time for his court appearance.
What kills me is the fact that he is in red hot form. Who knows how he will come back and whether he has the confidence and touch.
Just last night David King said we can't win the flag without DeGoey. I sniffed in disdain. Maybe we'll find out.

Just one effing year without losing key players-is that too much to ask?
Thank you for articulating my rant on my behalf perfectly. You saved me the effort.

Are we all suddenly forgetting how well we played against Hawthorn without De Goey? We've played and won games without him before, including the year we made the GF. It's manageable.
Our defence is rock solid. We just need to manufacture the goals with other players stepping up.

That's crqp Tom Browne. There are always going to be teams far more affected by injuries just as there are every season. Every team is not tested in the same way or to the same extent. It just so happens we are in the top two or three injury affected teams every year. The sides who don't lose key players for long periods of time will be the luckiest teams-not the bravest, fittest, most resilient, hardest working, most unified and determined teams.

DeGoey is rapidly becoming another Beams/Elliott/Treloar/Adams/Reid type. He's not quite there yet but well on the way. I reckon he has missed a few months in total the past three seasons.
