The person who is now conveniently painted out of this picture is Remy. Ostensibly the woman the masses have been concerned was disrespected. You can also feel an undercurrent of "she posted it so she bought all this analysis on herself".
DeG is going to get counselling and psych support. She is presumably left in Bali to make her way through her new toxic fame. Do the scribes, the AFL or Collingwood wonder how she feels about having her views so quickly and superficially discarded? Do we have any concern about the psychological stress of having a national media frenzy centred on herself? Do we care that her opinion has counted for nought and Collingwood has not even considered to give some acknowledgement to what she said.
Do we really do care about the well being of this woman? Surely if we were serious in the belief she had been degraded the club and AFL would be reaching out to offer support. Still at the sametime wouldnt it be outrageous if they did chase her up with the presumption she may need help when she has said there was no issue. A rock and a hard place.
Of course there is no chance that the frenzy has caused issues for her when there were none prior is there? No hypocrisy here. Collateral damage? Well that the price in a culture war I guess.
As long as the punters believe we all cared about her isnt that enough.

I am totally pissed off that a club of our standing and so called clout have whimpered out of standing up for a young guy , one of our own been vilified as if he were some shady criminal , by these sewer rats from the tabloids , who are all care and no responsibility. Grubby journalism at its finest . Murdoch and his cohorts are people of low integrity who should be called out for what they are . Low life oxygen thieves . Rot in your sewer .

Because we only need to respect a women’s autonomy over her body when it conforms to the greater feminist ideology. If not her views are totally disregarded.

Absolutely, but for once I’d like to see us plant our flag on trial by media. jimmy35 has the right of it that there are many stakeholders to bear in mind with a situation such as this I just feel that it was one to fight over not so much because of the details rather the axe grinding that has taken place.
I’ve felt immense pride in the clubs on field performance in 2022, but I’d have felt just as much if Licuria did a Sheedy (sticking up for the Bombers re the drug scandal) on Sunday by calling out the tabloidism of this story. The Australian public said enough is enough to Murdoch media with the election result and damn it would have been nice to see Ralph and his HS cronies receiving the same treatment…
Beer is terrible for your body, much better to use drugs or spirits for an athlete.

You simply cannot believe this stuff still happens in 2022.
Collingwood Football Club has in its clubhouse 4 teams. AFL mens, AFL Woman, VFL Men and Super Netball Woman.
That sounds like there are a lot of the female persuasion within the walls of CFC and proudly representing CFC.
And yet a senior member of the leading CFC brand constantly gets headlines for disrespecting females. This of course leads to the younger, impressionable members of the AFL CFC team thinking this is the way it’s done.
Well reality hit. It’s unacceptable in 2022. Just like it’s been unacceptable for decades.
If you were involved in any CFC woman’s teams, why would you stay?
The softest of penalties to DeGoey shows you just what the CFC board think of that half of our employees means to them.
Its disgusting.
And only the most sycophantic of followers would defend anything that has happened this week.
We have to do better as a club and a supporter group. We have to make the club understand this is not what we believe our brand stands for.
