Not sure what De Goey has actually done wrong.
He had permission from your club to go, and he partied with consenting adult women and men who looked to be having as much fun as he was.
From all reports he did not partake in any illegal activity, and no one he was with reported any disrespect toward anyone.

A fair bit of virtue signalling going on in the media (and BigFooty) I think.
This world we live in has become a joke.

The AFL should scrap the father son rule. You don’t want to be condoning two consenting adults from having some fun

That is what I have read and I think she followed up with why are so many upset over it or something similar.

The woman, Remy Jackson, posted an Instagram story on Saturday saying she was not bothered by De Goey's behaviour.

“Hey everyone, I can’t believe the backlash towards Jordy and myself over here in Bali … nothing to see here,” she wrote on social media.
She did not post the video Maggie5

ABC Radio Melbourne ran with it on talk back this evening, saying that things were different back in the old days - for instance, 'we didn't have tik tok'. Several people then called in condemning the behaviour of the Collingwood footballers towards women. The subject matter was never really made explicit - it was about Collingwood footballers disrespecting women, but no one explained what De Goey had actually done nor was any attempt made to explain the 'Tik tok' reference. I don't think the people who called condemning the player's disrespect had any idea of the details. If I wasn't driving the car I would have called myself. The discussion was abysmal, totally one sided and devoid of substance. I think people just hear the words 'Collingwood' and 'disrespect for women' and that's all they need to know to form a negative opinion then express it publicly.

shake it off.....shake it off...

These 2 flogs on 360 wearing pink lady badges trying to look like angels whilst talking about the players disrespecting women, oh * off :tearsofjoy:
It's a disease in our media. Every man in the MSM must grovel at the feet of the female gender and condemn any man they believe has transgressed and committed the unforgivable act of upsetting or disrespecting an individual woman for in doing so he exposes his deep hatred of all women

It is a circus. A phoney piece of performance art carried out by every male who graces our TV screens from Jonathon Brown through to Peter Hitchener

They practice their headshaking and look of disgust for hours until it has been perfected.

I despise all of them. They'd sell their mothers to keep their job.

I am pretty much in agreement with what Buckley has said on the matter.

“I think they should offer him what they’re prepared to pay him and that he should just accept that and say, ‘Thank you for your support, for your guidance and understanding as I try and navigate my life to go from being a young man who has made some blues to being a better contributor and better person’.

“I still think that if the club chooses to continue with him, I think that should be their parameters that they continue with him on. I think Jordy should be pretty thankful if that occurs.

“He’s still a young guy but he’s got to make better decisions and he’s got to decide to put people around him that are going to help him make better decisions.

“I’m really uncomfortable right now, I have to declare that, because I think in isolation what Jordy did is not a hanging offence. But when you put it against his past, when you put it against the situation that the club was in, in a really positive space, to make the decision to go to Bali, at the time it should have had red flags all over it.

“In retrospect it clearly was a bad decision.”

Whilst AFL 360 were banging on about JDG & respect for women & that is was distressing for people to view the video…they had the JDG video playing in the background.
So the very video that is so distressing to the community is played again & again by the media outlets…

Its the same as the Do Better title. All that most people hear is Collingwood need to do better. It was a bad call giving the report such a negative title. Surely they could have thought of a more positive uniting name.

The media aren't interested in facts and it is impossible for the minority to be heard. The club should be leaking other prominent persons that have participated in the Tic Toc Survey? There would literally be hundreds including women that are disrespecting men.

I won’t be posting that on an open forum so the media can write another article tomorrow.

I posted days ago that they’re “all” friends.

I think it is so disingenuous that every one is horrified by the video except the girl involved. Pissed me off today that our Club made Jordan apologise.
So can't name? Okay.

Further not sure why that last sentence is directed to me, not once have I expressed horror about the video (have no intention of looking it up either) as I haven't seen it and have only seen a couple of photos.

It wasn’t directed at you but anyone who thinks De Goey did wrong.

They keep going on about how his actions in Bali have disrespected women. Am I missing something? Outside of the fact it was consensual there was only one woman involved so only one person potential disrespected by his alleged actions

Jake Niall now jumping on the drop De Goey bandwagon. These vultures are determined to get their prey.

What will the club do?

I’m tipping they buckle.
So much for Side by Side they stick together. People have commented on the refreshing silence post Ed. But I feel like we are now seeing Collingwood post Ed spineless and weak. No way he would have waited 5 days to speak

Plenty of white knights in the media and on this forum wanting to protect a girl and talking for her after she has said “nothing to see here”.

Women have a voice and she made hers heard. Her opinion is the only one that matters on this subject. Men and other women have no right to speak for her.

The club has made a sensible decision in the context of the situation and giving him the opportunity to let his footy do the talking

That's so they can say "hey, look at this video, look at how distressing it is! Here, watch it again, see? "

Isnt the main issue (at least for pie fans) is that he caused a lot of unnecessary stress within the club when things were going along well? And also that he might split opinions among the players? That would be my main topic if i was talking to him. He is a divisive kind of player. I doubt that I'd like him but he's been playing well this year

and the fact he clearly isn’t thinking much about the effect he has on the club

But her stance on the matter doesn’t align with the feminist agenda so it has to be disregarded. She only has the freedom to choose if she chooses to confirm to feminism

I haven’t come across anyone speaking FOR her - that’s an argument used by identity politics people to silence everyone. People are allowed to speak ABOUT the issue and her role in it though.

I wasn’t going to post this but Eddie not only fell under the Bus with Sidey but he allowed the Bus to reverse over him and drive forward & reverse a couple times.

Why? Because Eddie grasped the Side By Side motto even if he looked like a dickhead at the time for lying.

De Goey’s Bali trip looks like child’s play compared to Sideys nude escapade.

It pisses me off our Club didn’t back in our players today……..especially the young ones.

Here is Anderson’s reply as to whether De Goey will be selected on Sunday. Makes no sense at all to me…

"The important thing of today is that we're addressing the behaviours today and I can't answer that question today.

"I think what's most important for us as a football club and for Jordan is that we're fronting into this being open about it and need to be and be very transparent. The priority of Sunday is not the priority as we stand here on Tuesday afternoon.

"Today's about addressing the values and behaviours of what we expect from our players. The rest will come later. I can't answer that question as to whether he'll play on Sunday or not, the course of the week will tell that."
