I think we need to avoid any suggestion that feminism has taken up the cudgel against our Jordan.

JDG did something a bit silly and it has been blown out of all proportion by a football media desperate to assert its own relevance.

The bigger injustice is that our club bought into it.

I wasn’t going to post this but Eddie not only fell under the Bus with Sidey but he allowed the Bus to reverse over him and drive forward reverse a couple times.

Why? Because Eddie grasped the Side By Side motto even if he looked like a dickhead at the time for lying.

De Goey’s Bali trip would look like child’s play compared to Sideys nude escapade.

It pisses me off our Club didn’t back in our players today……..especially the young ones.
Exactly, Ed had been let down a number of times by the boys (most famously when he said"Didak will be accused of the Kennedy shooting next”) but he lives the values of the footy club. To bad Browne and Anderson don’t

Here is Anderson’s reply as to whether De Goey will be selected on Sunday. Makes no sense at all to me…

"The important thing of today is that we're addressing the behaviours today and I can't answer that question today.

"I think what's most important for us as a football club and for Jordan is that we're fronting into this being open about it and need to be and be very transparent. The priority of Sunday is not the priority as we stand here on Tuesday afternoon.

"Today's about addressing the values and behaviours of what we expect from our players. The rest will come later. I can't answer that question as to whether he'll play on Sunday or not, the course of the week will tell that."
I think what he's saying is, they haven't decided yet. They probably have to wait to see is Jordy is in the right headspace to play this week or not.

The CFC is suddenly a feminist group? That’s some far fetched logic you’ve got happening there….
The mainstream media disregard her opinion because the woke crowd deem it to be offensive and not living up to the feminist values or “respect for women”.

If she came out and said the attention was unwanted all of a sudden her opinion on what happened is front page.

Why couldn’t he just say that?

I found this wishy washy too. He seems to be saying the club isn't focussed right at this moment on whether JDG will play on Sunday, all they're focussed on is dealing with the club's response to the JDG matter. I guess he's saying team selection is a separate matter that will be dealt with at the appropriate time.

But it sounds like beating around the bush to me. Call things straight I say. Unless JDG is in no fit mental space to play, which is possible I think.

It should come down to are we planning to win? Or do we want to bow down further to the media on their BS social crusade?

If winning isn’t our objective and we are not picking him it leaves you wondering why do you invest in a membership for this club.

Maybe they chose to feed the media some scraps today (suspended fine, apology & contract talks on hold)…then see how that sits…If the media are still foaming at the mouth…don’t play JDG next weekend…see if that satisfies the hoards.
Should have been crystal clear today…Jordy will be available to play, whether he plays is up to the selection committee (like every other week).
They seem to be fence sitting taking the 50/50 route.

Some of us are rambling men, men of waffle, men who elect to deploy five or six sentences when a short sentence would suffice. Why do we do this, you possibly ask? In short, because we don't know what we're really saying, and we live in hope that a bombardment of words will adequately disguise the fact that we're full of gibberish. No substance, none at all. For myself, it was Don King who first inspired me. Some were captured by the man's electro-hair, but I was mesmerised by someone who could speak so much and say so little. Not bad for a guy who beat two blokes to death on the streets of Cleveland back in the day. Don, that is...not me. Me, I've had my day/s in court and was told to say as little as possible. I abided by this fine advice and so I'm an innocent man. Another reason I speak a lot is because silences are awkward, or because (quite commonly) I'd really rather not hear anyone else speak, and lordy forbid someone should ask me a question I don't know the answer to. And sometimes it sounds really smart, don't you think? To use lots of buzzy-business words, to string them together even though they don't really belong together at all, to pretend they make sense. And the funniest part is when people nod their heads and pretend to understand what you're talking about, and you think to yourself, 'Holy shit, you really understand the garbage I'm speaking? Care to explain it to me?' I laugh inwardly.

What was the question?

Its the same as the Do Better title. All that most people hear is Collingwood need to do better. It was a bad call giving the report such a negative title. Surely they could have thought of a more positive uniting name.
It’s set a broader mantra that anything that could potentially be viewed as disrespectful or is raised externally as such goes against the values of the club. As such it’s created a situation where the bar for Collingwood is potentially higher than it is for other clubs and organisations along with a need to be seen to act when things are raised.

I think the report was done with good intent, however it does have some medium term repercussions.

He shouldn't be suspended, that's a total overreaction. Whether he's mentally fit to play is another question.

He's guilty of being a boofhead. The 25K suspended fine is total BS. As if he's going to stuff again up before the end of the season. He seems to get into these situations when he's got too much time on his hands. If they really wanted to make an example of him they would have made him donate 10K to some women's charity. But they didnt.

The withdrawal of the contract is significant though. If he stays, it will be on less coin, and I imagine there will be some strict stipulations in there. If he goes elsewhere, it will still be on less coin that he would previously been able to demand.

Regardless of what anyone thinks about what happened, his trip is going to cost him $$$.

So Jordy has come out and stated he was diagnosed with ADHD.

As someone diagnosed with Autism and ADHD I can definitely empathise with his impulsiveness. The uneducated can write off ADHD all, it can run your life and the medication can be just as bad.

It's a shame AFL players can't vape cannabis. Once I got a prescription it changed my life. I make much better decisions when I can vape daily.

And again before the uneducated go off about athletes and weed, plenty of top level MMA elites vape on the daily.

If the coach feels he isn’t in the right headspace and him playing won’t give us the best chance of winning then you can respect that call.

But if there is pressure placed on the coach not to pick him the club is an embarrassment

Congrats for sharing. Hope you are well

My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD a couple of years ago, it certainly explained a few things!!

It just makes his decision to hire his sycophantic yes man of a brother in law as his manager all the stranger. He would be much better off with someone like Craig Kelly advising him.

Sad day for Collingwood joining the ranks of the perpetually offended ( truth is we were there already) and aligning with the diatribe from the old footy scribes that poor Remy cant think for herself and was disrespected.

Have some backbone Pies and call this out for what it was. Nothing. None of our business.
I really would like to know how the clubs discussion with JDG went. I just hope he understands its a flea circus that is part of the process and he knows he is supported, loved ( that special football club way ) and told in no uncertain terms he is wanted and the the contract withdrawal is part of the process. You'ld be a bit silly to resign someone under a suspended sentence you would think.

As for Raplh, how could he in any antimatter universe think that what Jordan did would result in a 15 week ( or whatever is is ) suspension, his arousal level just would have been frightening.
To paraphrase a legendary high school footballer or sorts, the great Lou Reed, if jounalism is the tip of the iceberg Ralph's the part sinking below.

Hope the players make a pact to never utter a word to the clown for quite some time

i have tried really hard to not get involved in this thread.
But the comments on here are disgusting and so outdated with reality that i'm actually ashamed to be a pies supported reading this.

This isn't going to go well.....so i dare say i won't be responding beyond these comments.

Anyone who thinks what has happened, with both JDG and the other 2, are just out of touch.

football clubs are businesses first. not sporting clubs. businesses.
the complete opposite of what most on here think we are....

I have clauses in my staff contracts about this sort of thing. about bringing the business into disrepute.
Its pretty standard fair and the AFL have them for their players as well...

Do you think the sponsors of the club would be super happy being exposed to this?
I bet there were conversations around this at that level....i would be having them.
Like it or not, if i'm sponsoring a business to the tune that the sponsors do collingwood....then i'm damn sure our values align.
No way would i want my staff coming in and talking about issues caused by our association with a sponsor. I would want them to be proud of the association.
So like it or not, sponsors (rightly) have a say.

For those that think this is about the girl and whether she is ok with it....its not.
pr0n actresses are 'ok with it'....so does that make it ok to share those on social media?
...or do we think its about the grading of the 'act' that's important?
I'd like to know why one is ok and the other isn't? or is it just related to how good at your job you are?

Pies have played this very very well.
They have made it known they are not happy, left it up to JDG about what he wants to do. made the other two fools apologise (who broke the AFL code of conduct btw) and removed the contract.
As a corporate organisation, that's about as good as you can play the hand you've being dealt.
