Oh well, I honestly can't tell half of the GC list apart.... Caddy, Toy, Hickey, Gorringe etc.... same shit* really.

*as in they all blend in because the list is so young.

Reported on SEN that Geelong and GC have come to terms on the Caddy deal , just putting the finishing touches to the deal . Where does that leave us with DMac and a stomach full of egg and lettuce sandwiches and orange cordial FFS ?

Not sure what you would have us do.

We don't have the compo pick as geelong have and GC seemingly want. I suppose we could trade a zeibell or cunnington to get another first rounder. That would probably get it done.

I'm over it I'd rather someone who wants us 100% then a guy who whores himself around. Go to the draft again - keep lachy and trade Hmac and Peterson for second and third rounders and we are set
I was over it last week when I read he came 17th in their B&F and then doubly when they started asking for two first round picks. Hindsight, and all that, people may say, but was never that fussed anyway. Onwards and upwards.

I think Robert Peterson might be a bit old to bring back into the fold. We'll have to see how fit he's been keeping.

Great. I would have liked Caddy - but he was just icing on the cake, not the cake itself. Can we now focus on Hansen who is/will be part of the cake?

Maybe get something to improve our list , we have been miserable in past trade weeks . Upgrade picks

Or even name a CEO , almost 5 months without a decision is not a good look .

Come on. This is Josh Caddy. Promising young player. Nice to have. Would have been good to get, has been good to be among a small group of clubs in the mix. Consistent rumours that he'd love to be at North are pleasing. The fac he's left it open to make sure he gets to one of the clubs he'd be happy at is common sense at his stage of development.

If Geelong hold the trump card they got for losing Ablett to the GC, I'm happy to not have lost any of our good players and to be hitting this business straight up. The fact a few BF posters will look silly is hardly important enough for the rest of us to want the club to run policy on it.

Oh, and another thing. If GC are prepared to do the deal without waiting to even see what St Kilda's FA compo pick is, then the ONLY thing they really want is the Cats' flexible compo pick. Which we would never have had unless we had lost one of our very best players to an expansion club. Even now we wouldn't swap any of them for Caddy - move on.

Wouldnt mind some sort of statement or press release from the club on their intentions this trade period.

I expect that they are going to do exactly the same thing they have been doing for the last 3 years.

Keep us in the dark whilst they keep churning over teenagers that can carry out Brad Scotts supposedly infallible game plan.

In the meantime, shut up and buy a membership.

I'll keep the CEO discussion out of trade time.

Of course we want to improve our list. But you have weigh up against cost.

Who is out there that will improve us.

Tippet? $1m per year- pass
Caddy? Great long term pick up. Disappointed he looks to be going elsewhere but how do we get it done?
Wellingham? For pick 14? Pass
Goddard? $800k 4 test deal, 28 best behind him. Pass
Dawes? Pass
Koby Stevens? Polarized views. For the right price, but is he an upgrade on what we have?

I heard nothing to suggest a Caddy deal is close with Geelong on SEN. On their review they said still interested in Caddy but more in particular Mcintosh.

Maybe just wishful thinking..

I dont know what else the club could do to get Caddy. He failed to nominate us as his only club of choice and we have the shittest pick of the lot. GC obviously only want Geelongs compo pick and they want Caddy too. No amount of public statements can change that. Sure, we could have given them something to let go of Caddy and give us their compo in exchange but what? Obviously not McIntosh. Macmillan? We start getting into the realm of too much cost.

If Caddy goes for the extra money then so be it.

All I know is that Moloney & Stevens had better turn out to be complete duds.

If we come away from the trade table with nothing, and then assist another club by giving the Hamish for a song, then our footy department are a joke.

Geelong must part with 15 or Hamish stays. I could handle parting with him if it assisted Caddy to North or some other quality trade, but not if it only serves to empower a club we will be in direct competition with for a spot in the top 8. That is just ****ing ludicrous.

so far it looks like all the teams around us and in the 8 have improved except us
surely scotty knows if we dont make finals he could get rattened

Where have they been traded?

Official North Melbourne Football Club Media Statement: Josh Caddy

Dear loyal North Melbourne Football Club members and supporters.

As you would have read in various media outlets we have not been successful in acquiring the services of GC young gun Josh Caddy.

This was an unfortunate and disappointing outcome, as he would have been an excellent addition to our young aspiring midfield ably led by our captain Andrew Swallow, Jack Ziebell, Daniel Wells, Leigh Adams and co.

We wish to assure everyone that North Melbourne are committed to doing everything physically possible to get quality players to our club, to ensure that we are in the best position to challenge for a premiership in 2013.

However as all of the recruiting managers are currently taking leave on a beach somewhere in Bali we had to send the 15 year old work experience kid along to facilitate this years trades. As this was Liam's first foray into any sort of negotiations he offered our pick 115 and Sean Sierakowski to GC for Caddy and Toy - which was unfortunately rejected. Liam, who was obviously quite upest with this result, then proceeded to get very drunk on Vodka and Lime Lemonade and offered Hansen, Petrie, Swallow, Ziebell and Wells to the GC for a night with a local hooker.

Luckily someone eventually managed to get in contact with senior management in Bali (all of their phones were flat except Brads, but he was in a noisy bar trying to chat up a ladyboy and initially didn't hear his phone), who quashed the deal just before contracts were exchanged.

Liam however was successful in other trade results, with Hamish McIntosh to Geelong for pick 97 and Cameron Pederson to Melbourne for a slab of Corona and 2 pr0n DVD's.

I think we should all congratulate Liam on a super effort in his first trade period with some excellent results for the club.

As such we would like to announce that Liam has been appointed new recruiting manager on the back of his tireless work over the past 2 days. He will commence his new role as soon as he gets over his hangover.

Reports are coming through that the pies are considering making a late play for Joh Caddy, now that they have two first round picks in the draft to play with
its buckley all over again

Yeah and with Boomer out he will play teams with an average ~ 62 games next year in the last year of BS contract.

Like to see Kennedy, Black, Mullett, Daw, McKenzie play but we are looking more 6 - 12.

Dissappointing outcome. If what i have read is true about Caddy being a North Supporter growing up, His Grandfather playing for the club and his family having an affiliation with north and we were still unable to convince him to come to the club it is a bit of a slap in the face. I understand Geelong had a better draft pick offer but if he wanted to play for us he would have nominated us and pick 14 would have been sufficient to get the deal done.
Its times like this we seriously need to start reviewing our football department.

We look to have lost out on Caddy now time to play Hard Ball with the Cats over HMAC no point making them even stronger when we are in direct competition for a top 8 spot with them. Demand there first rounder as a minimum and see what happens from there. They must pay overs to get a deal done.
