Am I doing the calculations wrong, or if you exclude pick 21 Brisbane’s picks add up to 2540? Enough for Ashcroft but not for Fletcher. Without a F1 their maximum points deficit allowed is 722, which plus leftover points (140) would pay up to pick 17 (allowing for the 20% saving).

So are Brisbane rolling the dice Fletcher won’t be selected before #17? And do they have 6 list spots to ‘trigger’ all of those points?

Any danger of the Lions discovering a modicum of class and trade in good faith.

And yet that's how the pussies roll. Glass houses anyone?

There can only be one loser in this, the Dogs lose a club champion for nothing and we get to keep our picks, or they accept that stonewalling has left them poorer.

Clubs pull contracts off the table for players all the time and yet we can't move on from rejected offers?

Some serious dissonance going on here.

According to Bulldogs legend Brad Johnson 21 and a Future 1st is fair

Meh, rather not make a top 4 team stronger for a crap return. I hear Errol st cafes are nice, Dunks may go well at North? 🙂

Luckily for the vast majority of supporters of your club, the people who run the joint are focused on improving the club, success & winning more flags, not being spiteful dummy spitters.

21 and F1 (11-14) does it for me.

If we can tack on 39 and get their future second then even better.
I think we use both Lions and Geelong future 2nd round picks to eat any points of Deficit and probably just draft Richardson as an Academy player next year we still have Mathieson to trade maybe for a future 3rd round pick

Both picks are later than the Taranto precedent. And one of the picks is next year, so has less value.

So no, not close to the Taranto deal.
The Taranto deal was an overpay and surely they'll get a better deal for Hopper, there's a lot of little asterisks with the Taranto deal so I'm not sure why that is the precedent

Yep 21 + future 1st is about right, it roughly matches the "Taranto precedent" of a 1st + 2nd, so no more is required.

Its close but you would need to pay a slight premium, maybe thats Geelongs F2 and you get back 39, because,

F1 is likely a worse pick than 12 (you can say it could be 12, but you are asking the Dogs to take the risk, it could be 18 hence you would need to pay a premium for giving that risk to the Dogs, and 21 is close but isn't 19, so you probably need to pay slightly more which might be that 2nds swap.

Gets the Lions a few extra points, losing 21 and gaining 39 means you would have 2,995 points. Maybe a small deficit to take into 2023, but you still have time to make a few extra trades and gain a few more points whether thats with players like Mathieson or through pick swaps.

Looks like this ones pretty close.

No.

Brisbane can upgrade 21 to a genuine mid first with Geelongs F2 and get something back there if they can wrangle it.

Were not giving back anything else and we can’t touch 21 as Freo will want it.

Lions won't upgrade anything not our job. You get the two picks and upgrade them if you want.

Yup. Dogs spat the dummy when pick 15 was on the table, so we’ve turned that and Tom Berry into the equivalent of pick 15 + 16, and now they’re sitting there going “wait why didn’t we think of that”.

Sam Power eat your heart out.

This is how the big boys trade.

We’ve just found the new dumbest post of the thread everyone. Congrats Thomo!

With two second rounders going back your way. Pick 15 to 30 and 39 was basically a small points downgrade for you. Going back to the buyig a phone metaphor, offering the $600 asking price but insisting you get $200 back doesn't count as offering $600.

He was always out the Lions just needed to pay what we did to beat out Port.

Our offer to Dunkley has been misreported. Port was actually offering a slightly better deal on paper.

Dunkley and Tippah want QLD.

Lions have gained 1136 points since the start of trading. Trading out only 1 OOC fringe player in Tom Berry (not Jarrod)

Now we have 3621 points.
If you deduct the 1983 we started with (15,33,51,69) less McStay Compensation (35) 502 = 1136 points or equal to pick 14/15
Lions have been active in this trade period and have improved our position considerably which we had to do

We now have 21, 34, 35(compo),36,38,48,55,56,73
I expect 56 + 73 to be used for Gunston.

Lions may be able to offer 21 and something else to get a first rounder from another club
But we won't do that unless we only lose a very small amount of points
Hopefully we can actually gain points but that will be a hard sell

If successful we are then in a position to offer the much mentioned 2 x first rounders

It is a slow process but we will get to an agreed trade with the Dogs. Still a week to go.
