Here’s a wacky thought & I presume there’s no players on here or staff who are in the inner sanctum that can tell us otherwise.
Perhaps the messaging from the coaching staff is very good & it’s the players who aren’t carrying out the instructions correctly & aren't quite there yet.
Maybe the stats that tell us they’ve been young & inexperienced actually mean something.

Sure…we shall see.

And I hope that he carries on for the next 5 years and we win a couple of flags…

The boys look pretty pumped he was resigned to be honest. And that’s a good sign for me! Fair enough they aren’t going to boo etc but they all looked pretty pumped! I’m happy with the signing and think we are going to do better than most think this year.

I thought that announcement tweet was a meme, because signing JLO up again is a pure joke. He should have been sacked last year. They have bowed down to a deer in headlights nail biter who has a consistently poor game plan. They should have make him sweat it out at the very least, but they couldn’t do that. Sure I get that and I assume that was on the list of options, I imagine their thinking is this really does mean we're giving him the whole year, whereas if he had started 1-4 or 0-5 the external noise would kill that option of giving him the year. I am with you, but I actually can see the logic in this alternative. As I said, a 2+ year extension would have been a disaster

If we start 1-4 or 0-5, all the noise for the rest of the season will be about the board needing to be sacked for giving JL an extra year.

No-one is knocking on JL’s door to pry him away, and if he walked then there would be options for us out there.

I’m sure there’s logic to it, but this could end in disaster.

But let’s be honest, that’s what we specialise in.

well here is the funny thing...

I remember part one of this thread.

I remember Justin Longmur getting a 2 year extension at the start of 2022. He was originally out of contract in 2022 as well. Most dockers fans were supportive of that extension, for Stability reasons.



I was in the minority and was unsure about the extension back in 2022. We made finals in 2022.

I dont mind freo giving Longmuir an extension until 2025. If Freo are struggling in 2024, we can still pay out his contract.

A lot of us have been calling 2024 make or break for JLo. Perhaps the club agrees and this extension demonstrates this. To give JLo and the players their best shot at 2024 the media circus has got to be defused. The club have done this. If that is the approach then it seems pretty smart. It was great to see the genuine eunited joy from theplaying group. If they carry that out onto the field, lets f*******g goooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
