Brave to predict a ladder at this stage though you would expect the usual suspects to be thereabouts and there is usually a darkhorse. Will sydney or the WCE be that horse? Also beware the roos under Scott + very good recruiting. Plus surely the hawks will bounce back from a disappointing 2009. No disrespect to the catters as they have been a wonderful team (3 consecutive grannies and two flags) but I will stick my neck out and predict the cats won't make the GF. Barring major injuries, prelim final more likely as we witness the start of a steady decline in the clubs fortunes. Not for a moment am I suggesting the pies will takeover the mantle as grand finalist in place of the cats but the recruitment of Jolly and Ball suggests that the club will be disappointed if they don't take the next step. I would probably agree with that thinking but it's not a prediction. I still have reservations about our forward line but who knows, Dawes might step up or the flexibility of having fraser/jolly or possibly wood up there could make a difference. And maybe, just maybe Sean Rusling might finally play a major role up forward with an injury free season.

Top 7 are a lock imo (the only thing that may differ is the order) and it's going to be one of the most close seasons yet, 8-11th is a toss up but I reckon all those teams will be around the mark.
Freo will improve they have too much quality on there list to stay a bottom 3 side.
Essendon will slip they have lost a lot of experience and some quality players, Carlton will drop after losing a 100 goal a year FF who won them a few games off his own boot.

Richmond and Melb fight it out for the Spoon.

I would already have Gold Coast & GWS in front of Richmond but they aren't playing next year!

Prediction - St Kilda to slide big time - there is only so much a bunch of rejects from other clubs can take you

Hawks to win flag easy in 2010.

Ugh. There's one of these threads every month. The draft has little bearing as we have no idea what to expect from most of them.

I can tell you now, Essendon won't finish any lower than 10th. Hawthorn and WCE are the only two teams that can finish above us that were outside the 8 this year.

Lloyd, Lucas, Lovett and Mcphee is a lot of experience and quality to lose.

On top of that you have Dustbin Fletcher ready for his pension, an average midfield, average defence and young forward line.
Then your draw is 2nd hardest to ours so you are going to be pushing shit up hill.

Lloyd and Lucas basically gave us nothing last year, if either of them were beaten (and they were beaten regularly) they were too slow to provide defensive pressure and teams were just running their defenders off them all day.

I would back Hurley/Neagle/Williams to easily kick >50 goals

Lovett is a massive loss - yep

McPhee is a loss but can be covered

What about getting Hille back? Welsh, Prismall and McVeigh having full seasons (potentially), the natural improvement of our younger players?

You will have a better season in 2011/2012 then 2010, when your younger players are hitting their 3rd and 4th year.

Also now Lloyd is gone the #1 defender goes to a young player leaving him exposed.

Fremantle to go undefeated, win the flag, and Des Headland will win the Norm Smith.

Jesse Smith might bust a hamstring.

Barry Hall into the midfield.

Robert Shaw will win a Nobel Peace Prize.

And apparently Essendon has been cloned and Collingwood kicked out of the AFL.

You've got Essendon twice and no Collingwood.

I just figured we bought you and replaced with a second side.

Here's hoping for an Essendon v Essendon Gf.;)
