Also, if the field umpire didnt even see the tackle worthy of paying a free kick against, why would it result in a suspension?

Great pic on the back page of the Hun which shows the exact point of contact. Buddy's arm is absolutely tucked in with not a hint of a raised elbow. The contact is to the neck and, importantly, I think, Cousins is buckling at the knees. Not trying to say he was deliberately trying to milk a free as Selwood does but if he had not started to sag the contact would not have been high.

I would be staggered if Buddy went for that.

We have a lot to argue with if it does go to the tribunal. Firstly play on was called by an umpire in perfect position, that is a massive bonus for our defence. Secondly we can argue that Cousins fell into it, as you can see by the bent knees and him leaning forward. I'd say that with the umpires call on the play he should get off because they deemed it as fair and if they penalise it they are admitting the umpires got it wrong, which they never do

You can't judge a player on what is simply inferred from the video, it has to be seen. Given the umpires made no objections, Buddy will be playing against the Scum next week. I'll be decidedly impolite if I happen to meet that turncoat Ian Robson btw.

If you watch Buddy he is going 100% to tackle Couz but Couz changes direction ruinning 100% towards Buddy thinking he was going to get around. If I had someone running 100% towards me who would not shape up having no where else to go! Buddy did not raise the elbow or did not leave the ground he is fine.

you cant tackle a player if he doesnt have possession of the ball.
Cousins fumbles the ball, so he hasnt really taken possession.
a bump was the only legal option

Buddy was "mauled" again, as Clarko put it a few weeks ago.........and was also penalised and given 2 x 50m penalties against him whilst having 4 Richmond player sitting on him.
