It was an exciting week for the Bears with a huge number of Bears ready to beat up the Demons in the posting stakes. With 21 Bears posting at least once we kept up with the Demons, who are, as far as numbers go, one of the best posting teams in the league. It was a big match thread with most players getting involved, Metalcrusher smashed them with over 200 posts, Millky95 chipped in with his first century of the season and MWPP fell just 3 short of the magical figure.
In perfect conditions for qooty the Bears got off to a flyer, as was expected after we emphasised the importance of a fast start before the game. With guero kicking the first 2 goals of the game and I Dont Care banging one home from 75mt out, after just 6 minutes the Bears were 19pts up. The rest of the quarter was goal for goal and with vanders, Matera92 and Ok Boomer all chipping in with one of their own, by the first break the Bears had 6 majors on the board and a healthy 15pt lead.
Two goals to Crusher against the wind and at the 6 minute mark the Bears are out by 22pts, seemingly in control. The Demons now kicking with a 2-3 goal breeze started to get more qooty and moved into another gear, for some reason our discipline went out the door and they took control slamming home 7 goals to zero in the last half of the second quarter and at the long break, the Bears were stunned, now trailing by an unbelievable 22 points. So that was a 44 point turn around in 20 minutes of qooty, sensational qooty from the Demons
Bears copped a massive spray from the qoach, he was not happy with our undisciplined qooty, we needed to get back to our game plan, stay focused was the message. Goals to kane249, Testy, IDC and Crusher kept us in the game, managing to slightly outscore the Demons with 4 goals to 3, pegging the margin back to 17 points at the last break and still well and truly in the game.
The last quarter was a ripper, with the Bears starting to play much better qooty and with RookiePick, Cap and Matera all snagging a goal each, suddenly half way through the last, scores were level. The Demons couldn't keep up with the powerful and much fitter Bears and goals to U2tigers, Cap and Matera sent the Bears home with a 8 point win and the celebrations with the rookie debut games and Matera's 200th, continued well into the night

On a warm Sunday afternoon the Wonders traveled to The Stadium in the Sky for our first home game of the season in front of a huge home crowd. The Wonders got of to a flyer scoring the first goal of the game inside the first couple of minutes. Then the Bears turned it up a notch, with Metalcrusher kicking 2 without moving from the goal square and RookiePick booting 1 of his own and half way through the first quarter, Bears were up by 12pts. kane249 taking control in the ruck and MWPP gathering everything that come her way, the Bears proceeded to take control of the game but failed to make the most of their opportunities by missing 4 easy shots on goal and with 7 shots to 1, the Bears went to the first break with just a 16pt lead.
Due to some distorted match ups, we needed U2tigers down back to help accomodate the Wonders taller forwards and moved kane249 into the Ruck.
Another behind to RookiePick to begin the second quarter and the Bears had kicked the last 5 behinds for the game, inaccuracy starting to cause some problems. 2 goals to the Wonders and then 3 for the Bears through kane249 and 2 to Crusher, who now has 4 and in for a big day, Millky95 decided he'd turn on a show a bag one from the boundary. Matera92 tackling was exemplary and with xenxen in and under the packs, the game was in the balance with the Wonders putting up a tremendous struggle and holding the Bears to just 4 goals for the quarter and with 4 of their own, it was the Bears by the same margin of 16pts at the long break.
The Wonders came out after half time with all guns blazing and slammed on 2 quick goals inside the first 5 minutes, to cut the margin to just 2pts, it was game on. Xen had a quick shot on goal to only register a behind, but the Wonders were coming hard at this stage. The Wonders piled on the next 4 goals to seemingly assert their authority over the struggling Bears at this point of the game. tony stood up and was marking everything that come his way, Muddiemoose and Bipolarbear started to really turn it on and the Bears were suddenly gaining back some momentum, with Ok Boomer snagging one before the last break bringing the bears back to within 10pts.
3 goals to kane249 and another to Metalcrusher had the Bears stepping it up another gear half way through the last term, really turning the game back in favor of the home team, the Wonders were stunned as the Bears took the lead out to 13pts half way through the last quarter. A fight broke out but once again the Wonders came off second best. Another 2 goals from both teams and eventually the Bears ran out victors by 11 points in what was a hard and fast game that the home crowd really enjoyed. Special mention to vanders who managed to hide from the qooty all day for a total of zero possessions.

A warm day for another home game in front of a huge Bears crowd looking to win another game and stay undefeated after 3 rounds of qooty.
From the opening bounce it was game on, most of the Bears went straight to Genghis Tron in a show of strength against the ex Bear, but he responded well to the attention. It was an even contest for a while with Ok Boomer slamming on 2 quick goals to the Gumbies 1 half way through the first and then the Bears started peppering the goals, controlling the qooty in that last half of the first quarter. guero had it on a string with 10 possessions before the first break and dominating the inside stuff, along with I Dont Care tackling everything that come his way, including Test Tickle heading off the ground to take a leak. Goals to Tommycash Bipolarbear and a double to Matera92 in the last 5 mins of the quarter and all of a sudden the Bears had full control of the game, having 10 shots at goal to the Gumbies 1 in the first quarter and a healthy lead of 34pts.
2 more goals to the Bears and in the first 11 minutes of the second quarter and the Bears started to break away, now leading by 46pts. Muddiemoose and Western Stand Warrior had stepped up to the plate proving some more grunt to the Bears engine room. U2tigers was holding his own in the Ruck in what was an enthralling contest all day, with Bono coming out on top. With 2 goals to finish off the quarter, including Millky95 with a miraculous goal from 75mtr out and a nice snap over the shoulder from RookiePick the Bears held on to a lead of 45pts at the long break.
Another goal to Metalcrusher first up and now the Bears led by 51pts seemingly a match winning lead. The Gumbies never gave up, knowing that the Bears have been known to slacken of at times. Fizzler still yet to get anywhere near it and MWPP having an off day with only 2 kicks in the first half. The Gumbies had a good 3rd term having outscored the Bears 5 goals to 3. Spot fires started to break out with Barrybran Genghis Tron and GWS Goose all starting to flex their muscles and realising they had more of the qooty and had the better of the Bears in that 3rd term. Bears still led the match by a comfortable 35pts at the last break.
The last quarter was underway, with the Bears needing Its Manbearpig xenxen and tony all needing to lift if we were going to keep control of the game. The Gumbies were coming and with 2 quick goals the lead was reduced to just 23pts, The Bears needed to hold on and take back control. Art Vandelay_ and kane249 started to throw their weight around and assert some control back in the Bears favor. With another couple of quick goals to the Bears it was all over, with the Bears going on to win by 36pts.

A cold wet rainy day, the Bears traveled to the The Golden Throne to take on the outspoken and cocky Royals, this was the first real test for the Bears after a huge match week thread that went blow for blow all week. This game would see where the Bears are at, up against quality opposition, we needed to stand up as a club and begin our journey to the top.
Western Stand Warrior was off to a flyer with 2 goals inside the first 6 minutes, but so too where the Royals with 2 off their own, it was goal for goal, crunch for crunch, real hard hitting qooty, after all, this was the battle for top spot on the ladder. Another 2 goals with Matera92 and Metalcrusher getting in on the action, the Bears were getting on top and up by 17pts, before The Filth Wizard snagged a couple and it was game on again. With a kick for goal right on the siren Crusher had the Bears up by 11pts at the first break. tony was in everything and MWPP had the qooty on a string.
The second quarter was underway and it proved to be an intense battle, it went goal for goal, both teams giving everything they had, similar to the match game thread, where everyone wanted a piece of the action. guero and Muddiemoose were both inspirational in their efforts to get the qooty, hard in and under stuff all quarter. After Its Manbearpig belted one home from 80mt out the Bears were up by 17pts again and with a 4 goal quarter to both teams, the margin at the long break was still only 9pts. RookiePick Bipolarbear and Art Vandelay_ were magnificent down back, repelling everything that come inside 50, getting the incoming ball to ground for our smaller on-ballers to swoop on.
U2tigers had the perfect ruck craft going again after the long break, giving the Bears first use of the qooty and kicking one ripper goal of his own. Ok Boomer let one rip from the boundary to put the Bears up by a commanding 22pts half way through the 3rd quarter. Spotfires breaking out everywhere as the Royals started to lose control, with Filthy Kapow!!! and CakeEater all giving away free kicks with undisciplined acts. The Bears once again out scoring the Royals with 3 goals to 2 and taking a 13pt lead into the last break.
xenxen swooped on the qooty and went straight on to goal, Dangerfield style, for her first of the day in just 49 seconds from the bounce. Blacky gave Test Tickle a good clip under the ear and it was on down back, this had been a great game all day, but after goals to Crusher and MBP the Bears were in control and out to a 30pt lead at the 18min mark. The game was all over with the Bears going on eventual winners by a handsome 29pts. I Dont Care battled hard all day and kane249 was still in and under in terrible conditions, Fizzler decided to turn up and pick up 4 kicks of his own, while the cold weather got the better of Tommycash and Millky95 as they had gone in for an early shower. Great kicking on a wet day was the highlight for the Bears kicking 18 goals 3 was a terrific effort. Metalcrusher spent all week kicking for goal at training after his 2.5 last week, it paid off by turning that into 7 goals straight this week.

Just under 2500 posts in our match thread last week, not quite as much as the week before but none the less it was another big week for us posting v the Furies. The major difference was that 58% of total posts were Bears as opposed to 48% the week before v Royals. 18 players posting is still a great result from we we have come from. Metalcrusher and Millky95 took the honors in that department with well over 300 posts each. Muddiemoose guero and Western Stand Warrior all scoring centuries, adding to a big week all round.
It was a big celebration day for I Dont Care 200th game and the Bears striving to stay undefeated and with a score of 19.5.119, one would think that was enough to see the Bears go 5-0 up, but it wasn't to be, with the Furies kicking 26.11.167 in a magnificent display of qooty and with Tigerturbulance making multiple changes, the Fighting Furies really lived up to their name. A very high scoring first quarter with 13 goals kicked in a highly skilled opening term, the shootout continued to the half time break with 25 goals kicked in total and the Furies going in with a 19pt lead. The Bears fought back hard in the second term and hit the front halfway through the 3rd quarter but could not sustain the Fighting Furies, as they put their foot down and took a 24pt lead to the last change. Furies were to strong and hit top gear in the last quarter running out impressive victors by 48pts, far to good on the day. An impressive scoring spread of 11 players all kicking goals was a positive to come from this game.
