Another week, another disappointing loss. After starting well, we once again blew a 5 goal lead and managed to get our ass handed back to us and lose but 41 points. We went into half time 9 points behind but managed to have 12 shots on goal in the 3rd quarter but only kicked 5.7 to go 20 points ahead into the last quarter. In the last quarter it was the Roys turn to have 12 shots on the goal, the Roys were super accurate and kicked 10.2 to our 1 point, to turn a 20 point deficit into a 41 point win for the Roys. Its time some of us go to Specsavers, in the end all those points cost us the match.

This week we were back playing in good conditions and it showed with 5 players getting over 20 disposals, Test Tickle leading the way with 28 touches and a goal. Others to get over 20 were Art Vandelay_ (22), Senor M (21), MWPP (21) and Party Gull (22)

Leading goalkickers for the week were Jezmiester40 with 3 and Cap and Party Gull with 2 each. Cap needs 3 goals this weekend to bring up his 50th for the season.




16 players rocked up to play bingo with the Roys this week. It is great to see Jezmiester40 back posting with us.


Art Vs Matera
Art Vandelay_ had a big game with 22 disposals but could only manage 3 behinds, whereas Matera92 only got the ball 3 times but kicked a goal. With Art's big game he now leads in most categories except for goals, kicks and DT.

A pattern is starting to emerge in our games, the team who gets the early lead in our games, is the team that loses and it happened again this week. After falling 4 goals behind early in the 2nd term, Art Vandelay_ kick started the comeback with the Bears kicking 4 of the next 5 goals to get us back into the game, with Cap kicking 3 goals for the term in his 150th game. It was the 3rd Quarter where the Bears made their big move, with 6 different players kicking a goal each to get the lead out to 30 points before the Gumbies made a comeback kicking the next 4. With the lead down to a goal tony snuck forward twice to kick 2 in a row and then Party Gull topped off his great game with a goal to give the Bears some breathing space. The 2 teams would swap a couple of goals each but time ran out for the Gumbies and the Bears got the upset win against the top side to get themselves back into the top 8.

Senor M continued his push for an All-SFA spot with another 30 possessions, 1 goal game. MWPP had a lazy 27 touches, Party Gull was everywhere with 23 touches and was swooping on the gumbies like a seagull to a hot chip with 7 tackles and 2 goals to top off his game. Electronic_Renaissance contributed with 22 touches and got 5 free kicks (someone must have been sucking up to the umpires) and Jezmiester40 continues their comeback with 20 touches and a goal. Special mention to the Wooden Spoon who kept Baz to only 2 goals.

Cap bought up his 50th goal for the season, kicking 5 straight for the day, tony got lost up forward and kicked 3 goals, party gull kicked 2 and Art has bragging rights this week also kicking 2 to Matera's 1. All up the Bears had 11 goalkickers for the day.

This week we have the 10th placed Royals in Heritage Round

In what was the Bears' 350th game in the SFA we managed to keep to script. We knew whichever team got the early lead would eventually end up losing, so we did what Bears do best and Hibernated in the 1st quarter to allow the Royals to take the lead. Early on in the 2nd quarter we decided to awaken from out slumber and make a comeback. When Cap kicked our first goal for the quarter we were 25 points behind, we would then go on to kick another 6 goals for the quarter and when Jezmiester40 kicking truly just before half time we took the lead for the first time in the game.

The 2 teams went goal for goal in the 3rd quarter and the Royals took a 6 point lead into the final quarter. Once again for the 4th time in the game Cap kicked our opening goal of the quarter and leveled the scores. In the 9th minute of the quarter Art Vandelay_ decided to go with a controversial play, missing his first shot on goal on purpose but won the ball back from the kick in, to kick the goal for the old 7 point play. It was a genius move and one I am sure he will never let us forget. The Royals kicked a goal soon after but couldn't find another with the Bears defense standing tall and hanging on. Thankfully the time keepers rang the siren before the Royals could kick another goal and we won by 2 points.



The Tick, MWPP & Millky got more than 20 touches in a pretty even performance by the Bears. ER forgot to bring his boots to the game, so as to not he his delicate feet he gave off 15 handballs for the game. Kane got Donuts for the game but didn't share them with the rest of the team and Millky must have dirty photos of the umpires as they gave him 7 free kicks.

15 posters turned up to post against the Royals and considering how things are going in the league at the moment, that is pretty good.

We did it again, another victory for the comeback Bears. We trailed for most of the match, down by 26 points at one stage during the 2nd quarter, but from there we clawed our way back to get the scores even at 3 quarter time. In the last quarter we went goal for goal early in the term, before Test Tickle put us ahead, from there goals to campaigner for good and thetick would seal the victory and our first finals berth since Season 30.

Electronic_Renaissance was outstanding with his 34 touches, 5 Tackles and 2 goal game. Senor M was back to his best with 29 touches, 7 Marks and a goal. MWPP continued her good season with 28 touches, 6 marks and 6 tackles. They were helped out by a number of their team mates would also got 20 plus touches, Millky95, Muddiemoose, Test Tickle and Campaigner for good.

Cap has hit form at the right time of the season with another 5 goals and kane249 kicked 4, with another 10 Bears kicking a goal on the day.

This week we play the Chipmunk and his Phoenix. We can't get into the top 4 with a win, but it will seal up a home final, a loss and we may have to play away in the first week of finals.
