Birds are chirping very very loudly that Rioli is 6 & 23 (I got from 2 independent sources I trust, and now released by the late news ) with some pick swaps later and it's ticked off. (But we need to drag out the drama hey)

Possibly but Dees would prob walk away at that point as I doubt they care that much about changing from 5 to 3.

Not concerned at all at this stage. Its just Twomey reporting that Carlton are keen on it, not that the Eagles are.
They have no news from the Eagles, so they can only take what they hear from the Vic clubs who talk to them and run with it.

I dont think we place any value on Owies, we might give them a token pick in the 60s, but the club has to know we could get him as a DFA.

Why? We were taking the Barrass and Baker deals as well. Your last line sums up all of the reporting this trade period. It doesn't align with what we're actually doing or what makes sense for us.

I have only opened my mouth now, with a valuation, when I heard solid info from 2 separate people. The fact some journos came out with it a bit later was also decent.

This is the first time this trade year I've put a specific value out there. Happy to say I'm wrong if it doesn't happen. I think it will.

If they really are sending one of those over for Baker, Baker and 11 for 3 off us works better for them. (I'd even throw in some chips)

Eagles won't split pick 3 for Baker, he's not really that sort of player.

At this point 10, 11, 18 offered from Freo for Baker and Bolton seems like a win and a decent deal to take, assuming Baker can be talked around to head to Freo instead of the Eagles.

This talk of a pick swap with Carlton just won’t go away.

They have added some spice to their original offer with Owies now in the mix to be an Eagle. There was talk over the weekend a player may be added to the mix and this is it.

Owies, 12 and 14 for pick 3.

West Coast get three players in the trade period - Baker, Owies and Graham to bolster their stocks for their new coach as well as pick 12 to use on the local lad.

Carlton get pick 3 for FOS or Lalor and Richmond get 14 for Baker to kick start their rebuild.
