Was a bad look, but the incident happened with less than 3 minutes to play, was off the ball and he got back up within about 3 seconds. I'd be giving the medical staff the benefit of the doubt and assume they didn't see it and hadn't been given the video to assess it before the game was over. The fact the contest was done and there was zero game related advantage to keep him out there I think adds weight to that.

Not surprised that Libba played it down, no player is going to want to increase their chances of missing the next game, but I have no idea why Bevo commented on it, that was ridiculous.

I fully expect the medical team to rule him out of the next game, once they've had a chance to review the footage and test Libba which I think they had no chance to do in the last 180 seconds of the match.

Importance of player welfare should be first and foremost at AFL HQ, but everyone knows their main focus is pandering to the woke crowd.
Everything I don't like is WOKE!!!@!!#$$$

Tiny bit more heat on them today, so now the bulldogs are “investigating” it.

Even if it wasn’t a delayed head knock concussion, WTF aren’t medicos SPRINTING on to the field when anyone (played, umpire, water girl), simply staggers and collapses to the ground without any involvement with another person??

Imagine if he was having a stroke - I reckon you’d have a better chance at being tended to out in public than what happened last night

We got (rightfully) slammed for the aliir/Jones incident last year.

Why are the AFL ignoring this one? Is this another case of #VICBIAS?
To be fair yours were a bit more obvious and you can point to the hit etc

The vision of Libba getting hit didn't really look like his head got hit and he seemed to be fine at the time. Could still legitimately be some other medical issue not concussion.

Dogs mismanaged it no matter how you chop it though

Beveridge said “He’s fine. For some reason, he lost his footing and stumbled but he’s fine.”
🤨
and he should get scrutiny for that obvious lie!
what a joke!

protect the head protect the head protect the head!

and if libba has problems down the track? seriously, this is truly disgusting behaviour by a coach, and by the AFL for not speaking up straight away.

Few people having a crack at Beveridge, not sure how he could have known anything. If you’re coaching you’re not watching what’s going on off the ball. They’re not watching the broadcast.

As for his presser he’d either not be told anything or just given a quick explanation.
no way, no excuse. He knew, he would have been told and asked what to do, and if i recall, its not the first time he left a player out there like that.

Hope Libba is ok. Darcy Parish showing sportsmanship is still alive.

My guess is he asked Libba who gave him that story and he relayed it. I think he made a mistake in saying anything other than "the medicos will assess".

The key point for me is this all went down behind the ball with 2 minutes on the clock, before anyone had a chance to view any footage. Once the game was over, the urgency in any concussion assessment was also gone.

If none of them saw him fall over and there was no vision available within the 2 minutes before the game ended, how exactly would they have handled this any differently? Bevo's words in the press conference, which may well turn out to be bullshit, have no bearing on Libba's health outcomes.

the press conference was a lot longer than 2 minutes after the game ended.

where the hell was your medical team? An opposition player was holding his hand up for them while still holding his jumper, it was clear what was going on. not the first time hes ignored an injury.
