Regarding ticket sales/swaps: The AFL Grand Final is protected under Australian law by anti-scalping regulations, which forbid tickets to be sold at more than 10% of their face value. Offering tickets at more than this will be deleted; continuing to try to scalp tickets will result in bans.

BigFooty does not guarantee ticket sales or swaps. It is entirely at your own risk, please make sure you trust the poster in question. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Yeah I think so. I’m M2 expecting it to be in the sun for most the game. There might be a point where the sun dips below the grandstand later in the day, but that whole south east side will be pretty directly into it.

This'll be your vantage point, but a few rows nearer to the front. The players/ground will feel much closer from an in-person perspective. Right above the Lions cheer squad. Awesome spot.

It’s a fair shout - but speaking for me - never really been involved in forums - so never signed up - but I’m still desperate to go.

I live in Sydney now - so only get to 1-2 games a year - but been riding the journey from 2000 on. Sob story missing out on a ticket - but keeping flights & heading down anyway!

If something lands - meant to be. If not - so be it. Enjoying the vibes & solid footy chat anyway so will still hang around here if things don’t work out ticket wise!

Every time on the Hawks board during that era it was like clockwork - brand new BigFooty members littering the dedicated thread with the old "If anyone has a spare, PM me". Quite audacious if you ask me; especially with so many long-term supporters, many of whom stayed true in the mid 90s when the club almost flatlined, missing out.

I really hope so, heard that they are thinking of offering Collingwood members an extra 3000 tickets to suck up after all of the issues with tickets

Yeah didn’t mean any disrespect, and hope you manage to find tickets somehow but just the sceptical part of my brain.

I’m not really an old member or regular poster either, but I understand people giving preference to names they know around a bit more!

Anyway, hope you find a ticket somehow and can make it down! Also for new members a bit of context probably doesn’t hurt your case!

Unsure, apparently the club also gets allocated a few thousand tickets directly - anyone know where these go?

For example, do the cheer squads get drawn out of the ballot, or do the clubs organise them separately?

I am a die-hard fan who used to post here but busy life takes it's toll. I have no hope of getting a ticket now but just posting here in case someone is unable to go on GF day. I live in Melbourne so all I need is ticket to make a roar on GF day. Also, not a scalper!!

Bad news for our family. We are P1 members. Registered in the ballot okay for the six of us on my brother in-law's credit card, so we can sit together. Unfortunately when it came time to pay, payment failed as unbeknown to my brother in-law, his credit card had a transaction limit less than the sum total. So we missed out on tickets. Apparently there's no recourse with Ticketek. My brother in-law is really torn up, gutted to have let us all down so badly. I/we don't blame him at all, but we are very disappointed, especially for the kids, who've never be to a granny but have heard all the stories of our previous successes. We'll try the club tomorrow, but don't hold much hope.

I assume their tickets were still on hold, but their card just recharged. Seems to have happened to other Collingwood supporters a bit too

This was posted at the time when we had several P1 members who hadn’t gotten tickets yet. But looks like they’ve all been sorted now.

Bro-in-law increased the limit last night following the advice given here - thank you very much.

First thing morning, he went to a Ticketek office, they said that our tickets were still reserved to us pending payment. The club also sent us an email confirming reservation. Both said that payment would be deducted midday, but it came through at 2:30pm instead - talk about making us sweat.

The trouble was that TK sent out an email yesterday about failed attempt to take payment, the fine print said no recourse. They never let us know they were going to attempt to take payment again this morning. If we had known we would have kept our powder dry and importantly had a good nights rest. Anyhow, we're going to the Granny. Go Lions!
