Regarding ticket sales/swaps: The AFL Grand Final is protected under Australian law by anti-scalping regulations, which forbid tickets to be sold at more than 10% of their face value. Offering tickets at more than this will be deleted; continuing to try to scalp tickets will result in bans.

BigFooty does not guarantee ticket sales or swaps. It is entirely at your own risk, please make sure you trust the poster in question. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

The process for people wanting to attend the Grand Final should we win the PF starts this Wednesday 13/9/2023.
Every member would have received an email and i believe the club will send another reminder Tuesday.
Below my take only on what's required to register for the ballot.
.............................
(A)
You need to open a Ticketek account at least 24 hours before Wed. 13/9/23 if you do not have one. http://www.ticketek.com.au/
If you have a Ticketek account check that your login details are still correct
The recent club email advised your P1, P2 or P3 status and allocated registration times.
Registration date is Wed 13/9/2023
P1: 8am to noon. (September & Coaches Club members)
P2: 1pm - 4pm
P3: 5pm- 8pm

(B)
You can only register a maximin of 8 barcodes in one transaction.
If you have more than 8 people attending, you will have to do this twice. Or get someone else to do the 2nd group.
Arrange who is sitting with whom before you start the process. The 2 groups won't be sitting together.
If concession/junior are involved, make sure they are with the correct people/group as each barcode is tied to either Adult or Concession/Junior.
With each separate ballot transaction only one person to register and only 1 credit card to be registered for each group.

Ensure the credit card limit can pay for top prices even though you most likely won't be offered them.
The top ticket prices are: Adults $448 Concession & Junior $381
A $6 nonrefundable fee is applied to each barcode.

Important information below taken from club email link. I left off the last 6 words as it makes the sentence more confusing.

and members should be aware that registrations with more than one ticket are ‘one in all in’ or ‘one out all out’;

What i take this to mean is if you register say 6 people and the credit card fails or rejected for some reason all 6 people are out.
So triple check your credit card details when registering for the ballot.
I don't think it would apply to barcodes as i would have thought that would get picked up as an error during the registering process.

(C)
Below a copy/paste from the Lions email link
I have not included everything like "companion card and medical requirements"
Anyone needing that information best check out what's required via the club email link.

Last year the club recommended people tick one of point number 5 or 6.
From memory it was 5. The forthcoming club email may suggest which one to select.

How To Register: A step-by-step guide

The Brisbane Lions will email you with the registration link and confirm your member priority group and registration time.

Visit Ticketek and log into your My Ticketek account. As the credit card holder, you will need to ensure that you are a My Ticketek member to continue with the registration process.

1. Click on the Brisbane Lions 2023 Toyota AFL Grand Final Registration tile on the Ticketek homepage.

2. Select your Priority Group from the drop-down menu on the right-hand side of the page

3. Enter your member barcode(s) in the box provided and click ‘Apply Now’. Each barcode registered will be charged a non-refundable $6.00 fee at the end of the registration process.

4. The next page will prompt you to select your ticket preference. You will have the choice of the following two options:

5. I will accept the next best available ticket – including Standing Room

6. I will accept the next best available reserved seat – no Standing Room

7. To register each member for a Grand Final ticket select ‘1’ from the drop down list next to each ballot price type. Repeat this for each barcode. Select the listed delivery method and then proceed to the payment screen.

8. The next page will confirm your registration. Please read these details carefully and review all information before proceeding. Read the terms and conditions and check the box stating that you agree. Submit payment.

9. Once the registration is complete and your credit card has been authorised, you will be transferred to the confirmation page and sent an email confirming your registration with your Ticketek Customer ID. Keep this and the membership barcodes supplied as reference of your registration.

Please note: Should you encounter any issues with your barcodes when you are trying to register within your priority period, please do not panic, we recommend you contact Brisbane Lions MemberHQ on 07 3335 1777 immediately to rectify the issue.

Standing sounds terrible - can you even see the field?

Does anyone know - if I go best available including standing, will i get sitting until it's exhausted and standing only when sitting has been exhausted? Or is it random?

How many seats go to lions members?

I hate that some qld based members will give or sell their codes to vic family or randoms.

i also hate that a woman I met wasn't able to get tickets to finals because she's a dr receptionist, couldn't take a day off and didn't have someone to buy her ticket so she can't get to finals.

sales should be after hours (for most people).

I know asking you to not stress is a big ask;)
If you are priority 1 and all people you are buying for are priority 1 then you won't get standing room seats.

I just put the information up mainly for those that have not gone through the process before.
And as a reminder for those that have.

Have you a specific question that i and others may be able to assist?
I did cover the standing room question. From memory the club suggested tick "including standing room"
However, the next club email may confirm my thoughts on what they suggest people should tick.

Stress is just one form of excitement.

I'm good at excitement 😁

One question that was asked last year but not covered in the link the club provided.
It most likely will be mentioned in the next email.
These are my thoughts only until i see something confirmed by the club.
Just bear the below in mind if you fall into this situation.

Q: My group has a mixture of P1 and P2 tickets when is my correct time window and what are the drawbacks.

A: most likely something like this

Say there are 2-8 people with a mixture of P1 & P2.
Basically, remember you can't go up a category, but you can go down one if you are game.
However, going down from P1 to P2 to sit together changes things dramatically.
If possible and most desirable for P1 holders break the group up into each category and apply separately to the ballot.

If you drop down to P2 to sit with other family & friends, you may not get a ticket at all.
Going down a category to sit with others means your allocated time to apply changes to the P2 time of 1pm-4pm.

Surely not. If Port were to win they've had a shocking schedule throughout the finals. Last game this week and then a 6 day break away to Pies. While Blues or Dees get 8

Port are not going to win, they now have no defence and their best player is going to get suspended

Correct. If you’re a P1 and register with P2’s in a group you’re essentially a P2, and run the risk of missing out altogether. I believe if one of the P2s was to be ‘drawn out’ then all of the group are in (there’s no chance of e.g. 4 of 6 registered together getting one, and 2 missing out). Bigger the group more chance you’ve actually got?

I am not quite sure what you mean by the bolded.

There is this:
and members should be aware that registrations with more than one ticket are ‘one in all in’ or ‘one out all out’;

I mentioned above about credit cards but i would think this is in the same boat from what i think you are saying.

If say a group of 4 people with P1 decide to drop to P2 to sit with 2 other friends in that category. A total of 6 people.

After all the P1 tickets are processed they then move onto P2 allocation of tickets where these 6 are now located (P2).
Let's say all tickets are exhausted by the time they get to say halfway through P2.

If the above mentioned 6 in this group do not get a ticket allocation by that time all six miss out.

Pretty much what you just said :)

That’s a great explanation !

If i register three priority 1 memberships ( 1 x Adult and 2 x juniors - what stops 2 x Adults going and 1 junior going ? )

All I have noticed throughout the finals is a green enter or red stop on the gates as the punters stream through ?

We have had an adult get in with a child's season membership to multiple games this season.

Could be different for finals though.

Cheers MM.

Interesting, not sure they can tell to be fair. I was told that potentially it’s an orange light on a junior ticket as they scan through but it was 100% green over the weekend.

I hear what you are saying about nobody really checks tickets at the gate.
I am sure there is a system in place to indicate a concession ticket.
Auditors would ensure that happens but having a system in place and enforcing it are two different questions.

However, this is another matter different from how to get tickets from the ballot.
The gate attendant could of course spot check concession tickets but that is unlikely.
If people want to try and game the system that's up to them.
If they get caught out and not admitted to the GF that's the risk they take.

In relation to trying to game the system when applying for the ballot you can't really.
As you enter the barcodes during the ballet period they know that the barcode entered belongs to an adult or Concession/Junior.
So, if your membership is 3 adult tickets there is no way to change that to say 1 adult and 2 concessions or 3 concessions.

You mentioned juniors tickets. Juniors pay the same price as concessions at the GF so not super cheap anyhow.

So buying tickets for yesterday was Ticketmaster (according to my credit card billing and emails).

The grand final nomination is through ticketek. So you need an account with these guys as well.

Section 5 They make this so damn confusing. No wonder I get .. excited.
For the grand final ballot, you need to use Ticketek
You would have opened a Ticketek account last year.
If you cancelled the account, you will have to open one again via the link below. Same link for sign in and sign up.
Just click on "sign up" and follow the process. See first image below.
.......................................................................................................................
If you did not cancel your account you need to check your details.
Gadzorks you may have saved the password from last year and it will log you straight in

To login click - https://premier.ticketek.com.au/membership/Login.aspx

That link should take you to a page that should look like this first image below.
Enter email then password if known then "Sign in".
Go to (B) below if you are able to log in.

If not able to login - enter your email then click "forgotten password" and follow instructions
They will send you a temporary password usually to your email address.
Follow instructions till you are logged in. Then go to (B) below.

(B)
When that is fixed you are most likely logged in at that stage.
Anyhow to do the following you have to be logged in.

(1)
To check your personal details click the "Hamburger" icon top right of Ticketek screen. See second image below.
Then click "My Account" from the dropdown menu.
That brings you to "Personal Details". Details probably won't have changed but check anyhow. See Third image below.
Make any changes if needed then click "Update"
If no changes needed just go to next step

(2)
Then click "Payment Details" See Fourth image below
What you entered last year should show.
They only show the first 6 digits and the last 4 digits of your credit card.
Also check the expiry date and year.
Make any changes if needed and click "Update"

All done and ready for Wednesday's ballot.

We are just 3 Game members so I doubt we have any chance in the ballot for GF tickets if it arises. Can anyone give me a heads up on corporate tickets? Anyone purchased them before, who from, and do they release more during the GF week?

I've booked flights and hotels (refundable) now so if we lose the Prelim you can all blame me.
I think you will escape any blame.
If we lose, the game day thread melts will point the blame on just about anyone and anything.
It is good most accommodation is refundable within the time we have.
Flights a bit different.
We paid more for the flight so that if we have to cancel, we get a refund less $99.

Booked our flights, fly down early Friday to get there in time for the Grand Final parade and fly back 9.30pm Saturday night... with Virgin, $575 return.

Now it's up to the Lions to get the job done at the Gabba v Demons/Blues.

Booked flights a week ago with a mate who's also going to the NRL final the next day. Just got a good feeling about Lions and Broncos in the grand final.

Go to this site below and click the one on the right.
Gives you an overview of what's available.
If you find something suitable you need to obtain an AFL ID for any purchases
I can't answer your other questions.
