Regarding ticket sales/swaps: The AFL Grand Final is protected under Australian law by anti-scalping regulations, which forbid tickets to be sold at more than 10% of their face value. Offering tickets at more than this will be deleted; continuing to try to scalp tickets will result in bans.

BigFooty does not guarantee ticket sales or swaps. It is entirely at your own risk, please make sure you trust the poster in question. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

No reminder yet.
The cynic in me says it will come after 4pm being the closing time to ring the club for any questions:).
From memory it was a fairly painless experience last year.
No need to be in a hurry as you have lots of time to register in each timeframe.

The members that have a variety of P1 & P2 and those with more that 8 people attending are the ones likely to come across some issues.
Good point, they will definitely want to avoid the hoards of phone calls.

I note the email from the Club says priority 1 registration is 8am AEST, but Ticketek says it’s 8am AEDT.

I'm going to bite the bullet and get Verandah seats for $250 a pop. Have already booked flights and accommodation for the trip up so might as well guarantee our spouses a seat. They did offer to let my mate and I watch the game on our own.

Does anyone have any feedback on the Verandah seats?

If anyone needs 2 x membership barcodes for the preliminary final - please reach out.
Personally, i prefer the top tier or middle tier seats.
But last week i was unable to get them for the first time in a few years.
I have never been to that section so can't comment on the view.
Each to their own i suppose.

Daylight saving starts in October.
Anyhow no need to rush unless you have to do it from home before you go to work as it is only a ballot.
Got till noon otherwise.

How much of a bloody downer is it going to be if we get beaten in the Prelim... as I posted earlier flights have been booked, this afternoon we booked the accommodation and dinner(San Telmo😋) Friday night.
Yep... I've actually booked 5 flights for that weekend, covering all the various scenarios... Lions make the Grand Final, Broncos make the Grand Final, they both make the Grand Final, or they're all refundable in case they both get knocked out next week.

Am hoping the only flights I need to cancel are the one from Brisbane to Sydney and the one from Melbourne back to Brisbane. But prepared for the worst at the same time.

My Melbourne accommodation is a bit of a mess tho... I realised after I booked that I'd accidentally selected the non-refundable (cheaper) option 😱 Any advice welcome!

My memory from last year ended up being correct.

To give yourself the best opportunity to be successful in the ballot, we strongly recommend that you DO NOT select the following option when registering:
Accept best avail reserved seat - No Standing Room

By selecting this option you will choose not to accept a standing room ticket - should all reserved seat tickets have been allocated when your registration is next to be processed, you will not be issued with a Grand Final ticket.

It is. This will be my fifth registration recently, and only had one GF appearance from them - and that was just to see Richmond get crowned. 🤮

So will bring this forward with one change.

How To Register: A step-by-step guide

The Brisbane Lions will email you with the registration link and confirm your member priority group and registration time.

Visit Ticketek and log into your My Ticketek account. As the credit card holder, you will need to ensure that you are a My Ticketek member to continue with the registration process.

1. Click on the Brisbane Lions 2023 Toyota AFL Grand Final Registration tile on the Ticketek homepage.

2. Select your Priority Group from the drop-down menu on the right-hand side of the page

3. Enter your member barcode(s) in the box provided and click ‘Apply Now’. Each barcode registered will be charged a non-refundable $6.00 fee at the end of the registration process.

4. The next page will prompt you to select your ticket preference. You will have the choice of the following two options:

5. I will accept the next best available ticket – including Standing Room (Strongly recommended by Club to choose this option)

6. I will accept the next best available reserved seat – no Standing Room

7. To register each member for a Grand Final ticket select ‘1’ from the drop down list next to each ballot price type. Repeat this for each barcode. Select the listed delivery method and then proceed to the payment screen.

8. The next page will confirm your registration. Please read these details carefully and review all information before proceeding. Read the terms and conditions and check the box stating that you agree. Submit payment.

9. Once the registration is complete and your credit card has been authorised, you will be transferred to the confirmation page and sent an email confirming your registration with your Ticketek Customer ID. Keep this and the membership barcodes supplied as reference of your registration.

Please note: Should you encounter any issues with your barcodes when you are trying to register within your priority period, please do not panic, we recommend you contact Brisbane Lions MemberHQ on 07 3335 1777 immediately to rectify the issue.

So quite a few $6 donations to Ticketek.
I wonder how many P3 & P2 gamble to get a ticket.

My son who does all the ticketing/booking flights etc just told me that Collingwood's window on Ticketek opens the same time as ours, you would think they would have spaced them out by at least an hour.

There could be 100,000 Pies and Lions supporters all lining up at 8am... queue incoming system crash.

The way I read the September Members status/conditions is that we are "guaranteed" a ticket to the Grand Final if we want one.

They only issue up to as many September Memberships as the club has been told they will be allocated by the AFL.

So if that is the case I think it could be nigh on impossible to get a ticket to the GF unless you are a September Member.

There is no hurry to be registered on a ballot.
No need to join a queue at 8am unless you need to do it because of work reasons.
I would think by around the 10am mark is a reasonable time.
If for some reason you have an issue it still gives you 2 hours to contact the club and sort it out.

Getting tickets for the PF, that is a different issue and joining a queue would be advisable.

As September members, we’ll get the two gf tickets if lions make it. I’m not one to usually fly, should I be booking my flights now? Or can I wait til after the Prelim result? Pros and cons? Any help appreciated.

I'm helping out my mum in entering the GF ballot tommorow. She is a Priority 1 (just herself) but is being a bit pedantic about not having a standing ticket

Is priority 1 100% guranteed if I select the no standing option?

Cheers

It can't be guaranteed which is why the club says not to select it (but it's incredibly likely you'll get a ticket - it's just not impossible to miss out versus the other option).

I have the same conundrum with my near 90 yr old Mother.
She can’t stand for long periods so, I will be ticking including standing room to guarantee a ticket but if I get standing tickets I am gonna be pissed.

As mentioned above i should have answered you query separately from GoLions23.

Two other posters have mentioned it could be 1 or two but it could also be nil.

This PF game the adult ticket prices are:
Cat 1 - $199 that is $103 more than the first final. Not sure what last year was. The AFL only froze the bottom prices.
Cat 2 - $150
Cat 3 - $115
Cat 4 - $65

The AFL will weigh up our opponent and make a decision.
At those prices i think they will allow 1 extra for sure just to get as much out of people as they can.
At a guess the sale of

We went cat 1 last week because it was a small difference in price. I was expecting a price bump but wow. Not double.

If we select cat 2 and the seats are exhausted, what happens?

I refuse to add up the total cost of this finals run. Fortunately only 4 going to Melbourne, and have free accommodation. And bread and water are cheap. ish.

Con- Flights will probably be a lot dearer the week before the Grand Final... supply and demand capitalism at work.

We opted to buy now and just pay the fee to get a refund if needed.
