Have you heard good reports about Dew?
All I know is he came in and we went on a winning streak!

Actually the streak started the week before he started with us, I'm being a bit tongue in cheek. Still, Dew was considered one of the best assistants in the comp at Sydney, he just wasn't cut out to be a head coach, and the Gold Coast isn't an easy place to coach at either.

After a slow start to the season, the Lions seem to be coming in nicely into September action.

Looks like their flag window is still open.
I'd prefer more comfortable wins than just scraping home in multiple games, but you can't argue with the form record. As Dom Toretto said, "It don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning's winning".

Should probably be flag favourites at this point. Will likely get to second imo looking at the draw:

Carlton = Port, Collingwood, Hawthorn, West Coast, St Kilda = should probably win these if serious, but based on last 3 games are not serious and will lose at least one...
Brisbane = GC (away), St Kilda (away), GWS (home), Collingwood (away), Essendon (home = I think they win all of these. Giants the only real threat unless GC truly are unbeatable at home..
Freo = WC, Essendon (away), Geelong (home), GWS (away), Port (home) = will probably drop 1 (GWS) and if not still unlikely to

So IMO probably favourites to finish second, with Sydney first, and in that case first/second doesn't matter. They'll play two finals at the GABBA, win both, then their likely GF opponent is Sydney (and if not, a very strong chance of either Freo or GWS).

Lions form is already better than the Swans right now, and on a neutral field, on GF day, with the scars of last year burning... I think the $5 that they are getting for the premiership looks very good.

Love Fages, his man management skills are elite in the AFL. Not many better.

Game day coach? Quite poor. Bordering on awful. The inability to stop the opposite teams momentum is frightening. The inability to hold a lead, next level bad.

I'm not sure what actually gets spoken about during the breaks but we're just worse after every QT/HT. That's not all on Fages as you have the line coaches but bloody hell is this team so predictable. Start well, have the talent and then other teams coaches figure us out and burn us down.

It's the same thing over and over again. We have some amazing young talent coming through, let's not waste it please and move on from Fages.

Daniher cost you the game. Don’t blame Fagan for his horrendous miss. Nothing he can do about that.

What a difference two weeks makes. After the St Kilda game it felt like "Brisbane by how much?" Now they've blown a Top 2 spot, probably a Top 4 spot and their mentality feels really, really weak especially at the G. There isn't really a standout contender, but I feel they might've blown it.

I doubt we even make the 8

Brisbane's horrific record at the MCG continues: 2 wins from their past 18 starts and in recent times 1 win from 6 starts at the only ground that matters...

You can definitely point to individual efforts and believe me, the players are also to blame. More-so last week though.

Ultimately our inability to halt opponent momentum and our inability to shut down stoppages so the oppo can't get quick balls out present to me as coaching challenges, both on game-day and in training. There is only so many times that teams can mow us down that you start to think, maybe we aren't coached well for these scenarios?

I'm still haunted by the Melbourne game last year when we shut up shop with like 5 minutes to go. Even today instead of taking the game on, we started to play deep behind the ball. It's like we had no offense until the Pies got in front and THEN it was time to get numbers to the ball & try get it forward.
