Any posters who mention getting really top end picks, like Norfs #2, and splitting it into a couple of other 1st rounders, like a #6 and #10, need to remember that won't really apply to this year's draft.
Cal Twomey, who is pretty spot on with his drafting values, has repeatedly said this is not your normal draft, where you sell the farm to get your hands on top 5 picks for generational ready to go players like Harley Reid, but you could put a blanket across the first 15. So any list manager worth anything isn't doing split deals like that, unless it's specifically to cover for bids on FS or NGA.

Exactly what I was thinking last night. If anything those with a top 5 pick will be trying to get 2 picks for themselves. If you're St Kilda for example, you're going to give up 7 and 8 for 10,13 and 16.

Say North wanted 7 and 8 from Saints. There's no way Saints are doing it.

I think Fremantle prepared for this perfectly by grabbing 3 picks in the top 20. I think they're poised to be able to get three gun players in the one draft. I wonder if they could use one of those picks to get up the order and guarantee a player they need.

In what world can Geelong afford him salary?

One Ford dealership, two pubs and a dairy farmer in the Geelong foothills.

And if that's not enough, he'll play for the love of the game too.

Also means getting pick 2 is gonna be the easiest it has ever been (except for the Weller pick 2)

This forum and trade rumours in every thread is a dog’s breakfast atm.

Can someone actually update WTF is going on at Alberton?
Ollie Wines finally earned his wings as a commercial pilot and feels he needs to spread his said wings and find a suitable club with an avian appropriate mascot. We’ve traded Butters for Luko because there was an issue at Rozee’s bucks night. Both McKenzie, Dixon and Boak have been offered 5 years each by the Cats. All pending said player requirements of mashed banana’s on toast, nanny blankets and a good cuppa!

How on earth can Geelong trade for smith and Oliver with picks 17,37 and a future first.

Dogs fans want that for smith alone lol.

Don’t see any tradeable players with value they’re likely to move.
They have a F1 as well. I suppose they are planning to take on most of his salary for a lower pick.

Personally, can’t see it happening.

Geelong are able to threaten to take him in the national draft. I don’t think bulldogs will get anything more than pick 17.

It’s a travesty tbh. **** Andrew Mackie

I know they have Shai Bolton wanting to return which would be awesome but those picks could send that team into the stratosphere if they get them right.

Freo are already hovering as a very good team with a young profile with most of their best players under 26 or thereabouts.

SPP is a great player, but not really a gun forward. In the year before he got injured he had the third worst shot at goal accuracy in the comp (Finlayson and Rozee also in the top 5 because f'ing lol). Did still kick 30 goals last year which is a decent return to be fair.

But we are absolutely crying out for a natural crumbing forward who can kick goals from groundball gets.
The player is right there. SPP into the middle. Rozee forward.

Isn't F1 a future first which philthy had listed?

Mackie is the new Adrian Dodoro, another intolerable, smug & pretentious individual you would like to punch between the eyes after spending 5 minutes with them. The point of difference is he does have an eye for talent where Dodo Bird never had any.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but imagine this:

Barry Brooks traded to St Kilda for Pick 6

Port use Pick 6 for Salopek

If only we used pick 6 for Mackie.

Mackie would not have gone to Geelong, would not have known Hinkley, who would have not then endorsed him as our coach.

No Hinkley, happy days!

Mackie then probably working the trades for us.

Stupid Ports.
