That's good coastitis talking

If Rankine was playing in Vic he would be rated higher than dogga by everyone

He has been hidden away over at the GC
He was dropped last year and on performance is miles behind his best comparison in Kozzie Picket. Rankine had an awesome debut game followed by a couple of seasons of worrying underperformance before starting to put it together this year.

Rankine hasn’t been hidden away, he just hasn’t performed well before this year. Top 3 picks, regardless of where they play, aren’t ‘hidden away’

Yes but that’s more a fit thing no? As in, Freo supporters want goal kickers : elite forwards more than anything else
Freo already have Schulz, Freddy, Switta and Walters in the team with Sturt banging down the door

I'd still take Rankine over Jackson but thats because he is/is gonna be a better player

Jackson is exciting but Rankine is absolute silk

Our small forwards are the same class as a Hickey in the ruck for Swans, good role players who will play out of their skin every now and then. In both cases and Jackson / Rankine is an elite talent, but we have Darcy.

Not sure you can definitively say Rankine is a better player and I find it kind of funny that you have Adelaide supporters saying Jackson is the better player and Freo supporters say Rankine is the better player. Interesting bit of psychology there.

The two of them are recent pick 3s who have shown glimpses of game breaking attributes and being elite for their position

I think Rankine will be a better player, full stop.

And Jackson being a ruck makes it worse

Wat ?

Jackson is provem finals performer and premiership player.

You are entitled to your opinion, I definitely rate Jackson several tiers above Rankine.

Depends if you are looking for style or substance/consistence in a player..

It's easy to forget how good Jackson was in his rising star and Premiership winning seasons, was majestic as a gazelle.

Rankine has never yet put together a body of work as consistent as Jackson so far.

If even if you part with 2 First Round Picks (which seems likely) that is still going to be looked back on in years to come as a bargain for Freo.

Freo fans are just annoyed they are targeting a luxury player they dont need this hard. Freo ssw the exodus and wanted to get a player back and this was the option

He will do okay but he isn’t worth it to them since he will just be a 2nd choice ruck
Eagle fan is just annoyed because Perth has two teams, so says something silly regarding Fremantle.

I can't work this one out. What are Freo getting for Tucker and Logue?
Any deal for tucker & logue would most likely be negated by the jackson trade anyways. Maybe a swap of future 2nds/3rds with norf and freo will make that trade scenario more appetizing. Anyways it's a trade where Dees get the pick 1 they wish and norf get a better draft hand. Satisfying 2 teams and getting Jackson over the line with out too much of a hit to Freo.

Jackson wining the rising star in his 2nd year as a fwd/ruck is very rare. The Rising star is normally won by mid size players. Jackson has already showed his potential that when he is mid 20s he'll be as good as Grundy and Gawn.

Lol, surely Jackson, a proven performer & premiership player is worth significantly more than Rankine.

This is just a myth really

Jackson was and is all potential, he flashes in and out of games

His "body of work" aint that impressive, his ability to be in a great team last year was

Again, I'm happy to buy him on potential but he hasn't produced jack yet

Is he a proven performer based on two years ago? His finals performances this year were very poor. How long until we can move on from one gf performance. It's potential. If he was proven he would have maintained or improved on that form all throughout 2022. He didn't.

The guy is only 20yrs playing a position every week that most don't get to until 22/23 yrs of age in any capacity.

I doubt you will find many independent judges suggesting Rankine has had a better career than Jackson.

Jackson is worth a very early 1st rounder whereas Rankine's value is more mid 1st rounder.
