49 coaches votes for the season... most of any ruckman this year. But won't be in any All Australian conversations at all, what a joke.

He should be in the AA squad at least, I'm surprised how good he's been. He's only 21 as well, imagine him at 25? Far out.
That just means he's had 4/5 very good games AA is output over the whole year,

He has also only attended 39% of CBAs which is also inflated in recent weeks due to Darcy not playing,

He has been exceptional without Darcy but AA is a step too far

Relatively fair trade in the end. Freo didn't do a Croad, Melbourne still get a top 5 pick. Little ironic that Melbourne got screwed out of Noah Anderson, ended up with an even better player and then lost him too, but at least they know how to use high picks properly.

Haven't been watching but Wacko Jacko looks to be having a monstrous game on the stat sheet. Good for him if true, Freo's been under the pump all season and it would do him some good building into next year after a relatively ordinary year overall.

Which mind you it would be hard for anyone up forward with the way Freo have moved the ball at stages this year.
If your definition of a relatively ordinary year is being the highest placed ruckman in the coaches votes, and having about 3 or 4 best on ground performances (so far), you're a bit of a tough judge.

This one is starting to look like a disaster for the Dees. The difference between a dynasty and a one off premiership possibly?

Not really, Jackson is a great player but we would have had the same issues this year that Freo has had trying to fit Gawn and Jackson in the same team. Jackson has shown this year where his best role is, it's worked out for Freo now because of the injury to Darcy.

Or are you just trolling?

It would have worked better than Grundy and Gawn.

Jackson played his best games as a utility player, kicking goals forward and running through the midfield and ruck

Dude, seriously, has Jackson's performance improved since Darcy got injured?
It's been pretty consistent with the rest of his year, less goals now as he isn't forward as often, would prefer him to be kicking more goals but unfortunately we have to play Corbett with Darcy out

Losing a few disposals each week but bagging some goals would be a better outcome but I understand he is having to fill a different role right now

No. He had poor games against bigger, more experienced rucks. His past few games have been very good but largely because he's against poorer rucks. Some of his best games of the year (vs Sydney, Essendon, Hawthorn) were when he was playing with Darcy. His other stand out games vs Melb, Geelong, Brisbane.

Anyone who has watched properly watched freo this year knows that the Darcy/Jackson combination works perfectly fine.

Coaches votes with Darcy in the team:
Hawks - 10 votes
Sydney - 5 votes
Essendon - 8 votes

Coaches votes without Darcy in the team:
Richmond - 1 vote
Melbourne - 8 votes
Geelong - 7 votes
Brisbane - 10 votes

So it's 23 votes vs 26 votes. 3 stand out games with Darcy in the team, 3 stand out games without Darcy in the team. You can also take into account that a large amount of games they played together Jackson was still finding his place in the team, and that it took a while for a new player to gel with a new team. It's not a Gawn/Grundy situation where we have to drop one of them for the other one to be effective. Jackson has shown he can be among the best on ground wherever he plays.

Coaches votes without Darcy in the team:

Much prefer Jackson hitting the scoreboard and being a nightmare matchup against in the middle and against 2nd Rucks than seeing him getting ground down around the ground for the entire game. Could be anything honestly

Talk of Andy Brayshaw is insane. He is and always will be a better player.

And I rate Jackson
An enjoyable bump this one. Jackson in the AA squad. Brayshaw nowhere to be seen. Jackson has surpassed Brayshaw already and it's taken him 1 season to do so. And he plays in a much harder position for a young player. So all of those posters that said it was insane for Melbourne to even mention wanting Brayshaw for Jackson, well fast forward 1 season and Jackson's value has proved to be in fact worth more. People overrated Brayshaw and underrated Jackson.

Brayshaw was AA last year…

Jackson won’t make the side this year. And Fremantle have both regardless

Hope the bump was worth it
