You're confusing illegal drugs with pharmaceuticals and medication that require a prescription from the medical practitioner.

Anti-biotics can only be obtained via prescription but they are not illegal.
Morphine is not illegal - it's a pain killer. Still requires a prescription either at hospital or by a medical practitioner. You mentioned a pharmacist in the same breath as a doctor. A pharmacist cant hand out medication or drugs that require a prescription to the general public over the counter. The pharmacist didnt examine the patient, nor is qualified to do so.

Didn't a cyclist get caught for over using Salbutamol ? That's like Ventolin, the blue asthma puffer. In the early eighties my GP outlined in a consultation the timing & doses that could be used to enhance performance. Most footy first aid kits have them. I'm sure asthma medication is routinely used by non-asthmatic sportspeople across many sports.

The good thing about cocaine is it's undetectable in your system after 4 days. Means you can have a sesh on Monday after the game and you're right by the weekend. No need to worry about getting drug-tested after the game.

Yep, Froome tested positive over the legal limit by some massive amount. Went on to argue it was due to dehydration, etc. and got off scott free. I still think it's dubious.

I know too many people affected by this drug. Not because they took it themselves but because someone they loved did.
And when I say affected, I don’t mean “had money stolen”. Suicides & sexual assault of children.

It’s an evil drug that shouldn’t be trivialised as harmless.

Am I the only one who thinks this has been pathetically swept under the rug. As a coach, his duty of care to well not be a drug addict is a lot higher then that of a player. He is in a position of trust and leadership.

What happens when Joel Corey comes up to Thommo and is like "Ive got a drug problem", Thommo would have been like "Ah yeah, whose your dealer cos im paying 90 a hit and I reckon I could get it for 70"

Given the knowledge and sweep under the rug both Essendon and Geelong had to let them get away with this blatant negligence is insane. If Mark Thompson was Adam Simpson we would have been docked draft picks I reckon and I think they should too. Id exclude both clubs from this years draft over this myself. Couldn't give a rats clacker if he's an "ornament to the game", that's a meaningless title in this context and shouldn't downplay the potential seriousness of these charges. I don't know how you got to the conclusion of it being "pathetically nothing", the guy's being charged with trafficking.

That's a standard charge by police in this type of instance that 99% of the time gets downgraded through proof to possession. He swore an oath and testified in court, I believe him.
