VERY MUCH AGREE..I like his work in the first half. Webberley was the one that needed to be subbed for Hislop...did nothing.

Agreed Post was looking pretty sure across the backline - but with Mitch Clark off injured and only one other tall forward in Collier, he wouldn't have had anyone to match up on.

Oh is that the way we should look at Miller's incompetence...FFS - you sir should take your hand off it

When Griffiths is ready Miller is out until then stop bitching.
Who else do we have to play his role?
Post?
Don't think so, he is a defender or nothing

who rattled your cage blueblood?

On AFLTV over here in London. Paid for the subscription, and the buggers arent showing Carlton games for the next few weeks.

Also, I dont mind the Tiges. I reckon you guys have got your shit together after a long time of perhaps.. well not being all that good at getting your shit together, if you know what I mean.

I'll tell you guys one thing, I used to watch a fair bit of Juddy in his early days at WCE (lived in Perth so had no choice but to watch the Eagles games). And while comparisons are frought with danger (particularly at this early stage of his career), Im happy to put my nuts on the line and say Martin has shades of a young Judd about him.

That kid is just a complete freak. Best young player ive seen.... since... well, Judd.

Anyway, congrats on the win, you tore the Lions apart in that last quarter.

Post was terrible, it was a good decision to Sub Post off as they lost a tall in Clarke and we were 1 tall extra.

I'm not sure what game you were watching but he was far from terrible , stood up well under pressure a number of times, deposed of the ball to our advantage, kicked clean on the switch , didn't let his man touch the football, applied pressure well and maintained the structure, didn't see him give away any free kicks either. Pity same couldn't be said for Luke

Martin is an absolute gun.

Deadly serious. Shades of a young Judd.

Congrats on the win, exposed Brisbane for the rabble they are.

Hey mal, haven't seen you around here since we had a a 3 page "discussion" on whether Jack was gonna make it as a KP forward, circa 2010 pre-season ;)

Yeah, I also rated McLean as a B grader in that thread IIRC.

Getting a little shaky on that call!

Was right about trading Tambling though.

Reckon you guys still need to address a few issues - need to strengthen your backline, find a talented ruck (to feed to what is shaping to be a brilliant midfield), and maybe unearth a quality CHF to support Jack - and you guys are set.

Really rate what Hardwicks doing over there. Tracking nicely, avoiding the quick fix, addressing one area at a time and getting games into the kids. Tough gig coaching the Tiges!

Anyways, a little OT, but good luck for the rest of the season (aside from when youre playing us of course!)

And if Martin doesnt win a Brownlow over the course of his career, frankly ill be amazed.

Rather Post to be honest...besides we seem to be playing Miller forward AND back

Ultimately I wast big Griff in the side ASAP...until then I will keep bitching...and so will you no doubt!

Cheers mate.

Yeah still quite a few holes to plug. Need to bury a couple of teams as well, give our confidence a bit of a quantum leap. But we have time on our side.

Looking forward to the games against the Cats and the Blues. Believe it or not, but I think we will give the Cats a real scare, if our guns are up and about. See the Blues as a bit of a measuring stick. Have quite similar game styles I think.

ps: of course, we'll likely lose a couple of other games we are supposed to win in the mean time. Tis the way of a young and thus mentally fragile team.

Feels weird complaining about umpires when we've won. I don't want to be a supporter that blames them solely for our loses but the last couple of games we've seem to have had a few bad calls against us.

Now tonight, tonight was something different. Bad calls were seen nearly every 5 minutes, and not just for us. The whole Nahas incident where 4 Brisbane players were at him was a terrible call. There seemed to also be plenty of times when there were frees given for or against where the commentators couldn't explain why, and there were no replays given (maybe the TV crew didn't know why either?).

Either way, the AFL needs to look into umpiring as a whole. I understand that there's a meeting they have with umpires once a week if I'm not mistaken, and that the umpires do spend a lot of time learning to rules and the in's and out's. But some games, like this one, are simply ridiculous.

Oh and of course, CARN TIGES!

He's only a kid guys, cut him some slack ;)
Couldn't care less.

Don't get all the knocks on Post's game. Has hardly had a chance to adjust to AFL level this year, keeps having his position changed and was subbed off for matchup purposes. From what I saw he led to provide an option and had clean disposal of the ball.

I know he has been ok for us since coming from carlton but has any noticed that Grigg never runs hard when he has the ball in hand. Get very frustrated when i see him get it during link play because his disposal is so shaky (you will always kick a tonne of floaters if you are not running at pace).

He did this at Carlton too FWIW.

Yeah the umpiring stank for both sides. I thoroughly enjoyed the contest up until that last 10 minutes, but unfortunately found myself wondering far too often who was getting the free kick and what for. It could have been a great finish if we hadn't lost Banfield and Clark, however it must be said the better team came away with the win. Dustin Martin is a star.

Congrats and best of luck for the rest of the year. I have a lot of time for the tigers, respect the way the supporters have hung in there over the years. So I hope you guys can make it to September.

On a side note, I'd do terrible things for you to play the Demons in the first week of finals and win. A bit of justice for a club that conducted a legitimate rebuild rather than tanking. :thumbsu:

:thumbsu: ^^^^^

I think a few others around the competition would share your sentiments on the Melbourne tanking. Justice would be a big win from the Tigers, followed by Scully announcing his move to GWS after the game.
