We did go through a period where we thought any indigenous kid was going to be a star player for us.
Massive risk for us as he would know our list in terms of contracts and caps inside out.
Wouldnt be surprised if a few wa boys go home. Oh wells need to replaced with someone good.
Bit worrying as geelong, pies all had pretty much the same recruiter for decades. Not sure how we didnt keep him - seems like $$ made him leave but why didnt west coast get pies/cats as they have a bit of loyalty?

I didn't rate him & i'll tell you why, he got more wrong than he got right. he has been here since 2013 just look at our drafting since than.
Francis Jackson recruited all our legends of the dynasty era Cotch, Riewoldt, Dusty, Edwards. etc
Blair Hartley had biggest impact of luring players from other clubs Grigg, Caddy, Houli, Prestia, Lynch you also hear players thanking him in retirement speeches for them getting him over to Richmond.
You might bring up the the odd gems like Baker & Short but they were rookies & more luck than anything if you give him credit for those you also have to give him criticism for guys like RCD, Corey Ellis, Ben Lennon.
I like some of our kids atm but also not sold on some of the players either.
I just hope we recruit someone highly rated & not promote within this is a serious job if you get wrong, can set your club back years.

Would be nice to get someone who doesn't repeatedly squander 1st rounders and can identify quality KP players as we urgently need restocking. Hopefully the club poaches someone considered top tier from another club. Need to nail the next few drafts before Tassie compromises it. No more el cheapo internal promotions. Actually glad he's gone. WCE did us a favour.
At this juncture change is healthy , livo and Blair will get someone that will be a great asset to the team , plenty going around in this dept , narrow it to the current leading clubs ,,,fk swans anyway , beyond their academies , who they got , did ly squat , try building a premiership side from rookie pics that’s impressive
