I don't know, how many? Please tell me. How do you even qualify what under the pump is?

Not to mention when you're team is under the pump, all players numbers are down. That's why you're under the pump. Especially for a guy that gets most his touches in the forward half, if your teams getting done, then youre not getting the ball forward are you?

He's one of the most damaging players in the league, so why is it a problem that he's our best? Silly
This is the point im making, our best player on our list is a lightly built forward mid. Not a key position player, not a full time inside midfielder. When the game is on the line or the opposition is well on top in the midfield battle our best player is sitting in the forward line waiting for the ball to come his way.

Richmond v Saints. 3Q. Saints kick 6.6 and Richmond kick 2.0 - Shai kicked both of those goals. Is that under the pump?

Richmond v Sydney. 4Q. Games on the line and Bolton has 8 touches and kicks our only goal of the quarter.

Downhill skier 🤔
The definition of a downhill skier is a player that does all the easy work.
Perhaps a bit harsh to use on Bolton, but my point being he's wating on our midfield to do the hard work and send the ball down to him to finish off the hard work they have done. Is what he does easy, no, is he a highly skilled player, yes, can he stuff up easy things, also yes, which is what makes him frustrating to watch at times.
If we could say he was amongst our top five players, not that he was our best player would be easier to deal with.
The next 5 or so years watching him, could be what it was like watching Richo play. Wanting him to win us games when he really needs more help around him.
Sometimes he's going to win us games of his own boot, other times he's going to stuff things up or go missing from games while we get pumped by the oppo.
Let's hope we can bring in some other quality ball users in the midfield to give him a better chance to do his best work as a forward and he isn't left as our "star" midfielder who is really a forward.

It’s funny when the side is on a decline people want to remove players that are champions into positions where players are limited and then move limited players who are failing into the positions where the champions are in. No you go through your list and play people or kids in their correct positions and if they’re not good at it delist or trade them out. It rarely works and looks ugly as s**t when it fails. Rance and Flossy were two tried and it was ugly. Baker and Short have been poor also barring a few spurts. I know bc of our injuries we need to try a few tricks, but try to always have a stable back six as a building block if your midfield is slow as ours.
It's funny that people think players have "correct positions". Riolis "correct position" was forward pocket wasn't it?

Is that still his correct position? Only way you find out is by trying. Not that I think Vlaustin should be moved, but I find it bizarre people are so set on players only ever being one thing

I’m not against it , but with so many injuries and newbies in the team why would you move the solid foundations amongst the debris? Could only be detrimental and more of a negative outcome.

A downhill skier isn't a player is one that performs when the game is easy and doesn't when it's not. E.g kicking a bag in thumpings and not touching the ball in close ones. That isn't Bolton.

He's also not just doing the easy work. You act like he sits in the goal square and collects the easy goals when really he is creating them as much as any ayer on our list. He creates goals at times when it doesn't even look like we'll get a good shot through his skill.

And 'waiting for our midfield ' to win the ball...what an odd way to describe a forward. That's literally his role the team asks him to play.

You woudnt most the time except in cases like Balta where we have so little up forward and a good amount of options down back that it's worth playing someone in a position that they don't seem as good at as of yet.

Vlaustin in the middle isn't that. We have other options to try in the middle and no one getting close to his impact down back as a replacement

we beat the swans and I farken leave for a bit and louie meehan goes on an injury spree injuring 5 of our best players resulting in us loosing to the aints and west cooks

we will beat shemans if we at least get back balta and hopper

We’ll be up for the occasion. Get a couple of players back and Yze knows Melb well. Being ripped off having to pay $25 to book a ticket. Definitely can walk up on the night and get a seat. Will we get 80k?

we will make the finals

The side was knackered v WC after playing 3 games in 14 days
…on the big expense of the WA ground didn’t help anyone…

We just ran out of petrol tickets …short going down early didn’t help

Reckon we will be more competitive after the bye
Didnt we play 3 or 4 sundays in a row? Hows that an excuse to be knackered cause it ain’t getting any easier than that. They are not fit

we should be 5-1

blooze game 3 injured players out of the game and umpires gifted carltoon free kick after free kick infront of goal

pears game as above

aints game wouldve won with just baker in from the huge injury list

west coast just 2 in and we win easily

I honestly think our best 22 is top 4 under yze

louie meehan is a genuine peanut

Didn't answer my questions.

Ever worked in the same position for 13 years?
Do you think 6 months of travelling + a new job at a new company in different state would get you over job burn out?

He never answers direct questions. Deflects every time

Found some old comments of mine. He would have been handy. Can’t quote them - thread closed.

“When West Coast got belted by Collingwood last week only a few players put in an effort - one of them was Jake Waterman; he was pretty good as well.”

————

“Anyway, Waterman was one of those dumped; a disgrace, really. We would do well to look at him, he can play, and at any part of the ground. He has the ability and competitiveness to be a key defender if we needed that.”

It seems, also, that Essendon are showing interest in Jake Waterman. I did mention him on here a week or two ago. He would be a different forward option for us because he isn’t one of those big lumbering types and I do think we need our third tall (after Jack goes) to be different.

Choosing Essendon, if he is, seems a bit strange. His brother is a fringe forward in that team, so if he gets a game he’s potentially ending his brother’s career. Weird.

He is also versatile and could fill a need in defence if required.

Anyway, he would be worth it if he came cheap. He’s been poorly treated by West Coast and now Kennedy has said he wants to play another year.

You’d think he has to leave.

Sorry for the intrusion but I think the worst team comfortably sits with Hawthorn at this stage. But just here to see the thoughts on Kosi. Did struggle at Hawks and sadly doesn’t seem to have improved. And we’ve got our own issues with Chol SMH.
Ok I’ll see myself out. 😊
I saw Chol at Hawthorn. Vanilla player. I reckon that Hardwick probably got him out of two clubs now. Surprised he got another gig tbh

would trade kozi for 3 phones chol

Which young player with a future will they drop for Grimes who will retire at year's end?

I hope Yze has the steel in him to keep Young, Miller and Brown in and not panic and drop them for Grimes' experience.

Yes they were shit on the weekend but Grimes has been below average all season prior to his injury.

As we are just throwing shit at the wall I'd like to see us try two rucks in Nank and Naismith.
I feel like Naismith can be an extra old head to come in but will actually give us a different dimension. That way we can use Nank more liberally behind the ball.

Plus a bigger and stronger body that won’t get pushed around.

Sorry, we have been playing every Sunday how on earth did we play 3 games in 14 days a little confused. Must be global warming which most are denying bummer I'm lost.

Chol was mostly ruck injury depth here and typically we don't go too hard trying to retain players. He had JR & Lynch ahead of him. Chol was very good as a KPF at the Suns. 44 goals one year, Stepped in for injured King but way too much depth up there and Chol didn't like rucking. which Casboult did.

2nd or 3rd KPF at the Hawks is his go.
