Can someone please explain a "turtle tackle"
Has priddis created a new stat?

Turtle tackles aren't real tackles because the player is right in front of you when he gets the ball. Even domo's grandma could lay an effective tackle if she was in Priddis' most common position on the field - two steps behind the opposition player. Sarcasm obviously but watch the likes roll in.

i heard Domo's grandma was the goal kicking inside bull that we have been crying out for. i also heard that we overlooked her for priddis in the rookie draft and thats why domo hates him as her career went down afterwards due to a few factors such as her dodgy knee and her disappointment of being overlooked.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'd suspected domo's grandma had flowing curly locks, big hands & easily nullified her grand children in close with crab tackles.

Its a very effective tackling technique that relies on the player thats tackled being corralled by the pack or otherwise impeded to a speed of a turtle - the turtletackler jumps on the turtletacklees back after wrapping him with his arms and lifts his legs putting the full weight of the body on the turtletacklee.

Pros:

Works especially well in congestion
Once engaged - you may consider yourself tackled, no shrugs, no ducks, no getting out - go directly to jail - do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Cons:

The turtletackle CANNOT be applied at anything faster than a slow trudge - which means 100% of modern day afl players can outrun it - even lumbering ruckmen and other midfielders playing on despite groin injuries such as op that have all but crippled them.

Anyone else find it astonishing that despite shuey having lifted his game to arguably elite this year.

Gaff being aa

And priddis being a brownlow blah blah blah and best afl.com etc etc

We still get beaten in the midfield.

I mean thats 3 of the best in the league.

Yet with those three in there we get beaten.

Its almost like midfields these days require pace and very good skills and our midfield lacks this.

That is one of the better arguments I have heard. Our only elite midfielder in my opinion is Shuey. We all know pridda's deficiencies. Gaff as someone else said, is elite at racking up useless possession's. The real problem as most know, our second string midfield. Sheed, injury interrupted and is still the obvious Priddis successor. Hutch, Redden,Masten, all average at best. We are not the worse midfield in the league, probably around about the bottom of the top 8. Our forward and defensive lines are probably top 4.

This is my argument for sometime. Names on paper and stats on paper look good. The dynamic is off. Too many good or very good at the same thing and too many average to bad at the same thing. With Shuey being the only complete modern mid we have to link up the I just go in and get it crew to the I just skirt out the back ready to do the 15m pass that doesn't open up the play crew. And when its one of the crews having to do what they are not good at we look like we are stuck in mud, soft and prepared to bomb and hope.

it's been a family evolutionary adaptation from sorting them potatoes over the centuries, which used to be the size of footballs until the potato board came along..
To bad you got the Priddis gene.
