Had an exceptional game last week but hasn't done much good this season apart from that.

When we have solid players contributing over the age of 30 (Mitchell, etc) thats great.

But when we have players above 30 who have no versatility, are a detriment to the team and hog a position for our future gun mids (Sheed, Duggan, etc) , this will be a problem in the future.

Priddis needs to pull a Mcginnity at the end of the season.

Which gun mid is Priddis currently keeping out of the side?

He aint keeping anyone out, he is limiting the experience our youngsters can have in the guts.

As far as I can tell Sheed and Duggan got plenty of time there last night, and in every game this season.

Mutimer? He's doing well too.

Until someone like a Partington pushes for selection in the WAFL selecting Priddis is the right call. He's on the decline, no-one disagrees with you there, but for the time being someone needs to make a case for selection. Don't play 'da yoof' just for the sake of it.

Mitchell can piss off to a hf - priddis is in the guts or on the bench - if we bench him we are a man down in the rotation

You arent very bright are you or you would have figured this out for yourself.

Since when has any "gun mid" been languishing in the wafl?
Apart from Judd who played 1 game for East Perth.
It doesn't work like that. You bring in a talented kid who develops into a gun mid.

Unless of course you list a mature age player who was overlooked three drafts in a row on the rookie list and play them despite their deficiencies and they eventually win a Brownlow cause everyone else fell over.

The players are in our side now. It's simple. When Nelson returns, drop priddis and leave Butler down back.

So when Jamie Crips comes out in a couple of weeks who's dropped?

Odds are that it's Mutimer, and that's fair because he's a young player that doesn't have as much impact on a match as you would expect from a senior player. Playing at the top level though is beneficial for his development and so far in his three games he has shown some promise, and it deserves to have a run at the top level.

It's good for the team as a whole to have some rejuvenation going on. Sydney 2017 aren't a great example, but Sydney 2016 were with the youth they were playing alongside the vets.

I hope Mutimer isn't dropped if Cripps comes back but if he is, fair enough. At the moment Priddis still has something to offer, just that he's on the way down.

Wow.

Same tired argument.
I am glad you acknowledge his poor game though.
Shuey, Duggan, redden, Sheed, in the short term Mitchell.

All had great games and all becoming more consistent.
All have less liabilities.

Time to wake up.

no wait.. what job exactly?! oh, the one/s of; butchering disposal, no look bombing kicks, plodding around with no applied pressure on anyone. Standing off packs waiting to turtle tackle, floating around the square gambling on someone else winning back the ball to maybe get a standing link handball facing backwards. Holding up play because can't run off and carry, or take on defenders. Providing no real running spread or realistic leading outlet to a wing from HB or behind kickout. No marking target or goal kicking threat.
Mate, sounds like my kinda football role. how does one get this gig?

yepp, when Nelson is back shift Wellingham to the middle. Drop Priddis and you can even rotate 2-3 blokes thru his spot.

Are you sure you want to say this when you said this earlier?
And where have we not given him recognition?

We have constantly said he is a great servant of our club and had a few good years.
Just pointing out that it's time to move on.

Hypocrisy at its finest.

Btw Captain Hero and Godfather32, I know this is old, but I'd just like to say these are the two worst posts I have ever read on here:
Matt has reigned over this extended period of mediocrity this club has been stuck in since 2008. I'll be glad to see him go.
This is true, he's been our main midfielder in the worst decade the club has gone through performance wise. Now in that decade we've had some amazing players in the ruck, forward and backlines and yet haven't won a thing. Time to concede that building a midfield around Priddis has been a mistake from the start and move on.

This is the most disgraceful thing I have ever read from supposed Eagles supporters.

Seriously, **** off with that. It's disgusting, just utterly vile spew that no one deserves. To say a club champion who has served the club for 200 games and was judged the best centreman in 2015 was a mistake makes me question who you even support.

This forum, for the most part, has some fantastic insight. Hell, even this thread has some valid points. But this sort of toxic bullshit should be reserved for the opposition, not our own champions.

To pin the blame of 2008-10 solely on Priddis is complete bullshit and you both know it.
