Would he have been sacked if he hadn't made the jibe about how useless GWS was going to be?
All you had to say. I am sorry, I shouldn't of said that, in hindsight I realised it was a stupid thing to say and this is not my intention. My intention is...
and that would've been fine. But he didn't.
The underseeded of racism is fairly permutated in the minds of people still in this country.
Patrick Smith claims it was Ali Fahour - AFL's National Multiultural Manager, ex Essendon player.

still cant understand why it wasn't kept in house..
Triggs interview on 5aa paints a somewhat different picture than Rendell did last night. He said it was more than one comment, not just one throw away line, and the two AFL officers were extremely upset with what was said in the meeting.
Trigg said he realises Rendell isn't a racist and doesn't hold racist views but that his job was simply untenable after what was said. Said he had spoken to Mifsud at great lengths - so he is someone who has obviously heard both sides of the story and this is the action he has chosen to take.
I would be very interested to hear Mifsuds side of the story.

No it is isn't! One or two stupid commetns don't make you a racist but they can effect your employment. Sometimes discretion is the better part of valour.
It's now open to question whether he personally believes in the AFL's stance on racism. A blatant abuse of power and principle.
Looks like the AFL have hung Adelaide out to dry again today and now have gagged them...

Gagged? Their CEO was just on the radio giving a conflicting version of events to those of Rendell.
