If it's 29, Wc could then do this
29 and 37 (1136 points) to Sydney for pick 23 (815 points)

Predictable and fairSounds like Rosa for 31 is the deal and I think Suns and Eagles are working on finalizing it now.
Solid compensation for Rosa and gives West Coast a 3rd X 2nd round pick
Combining 36 and 37 would suffice. If it's 29, Wc could then do this

Agreed a very useful puck up. BOG against the hawks in Prelim a few weeks ago. He has plenty to offer.Rosa will be a good player for GC.
It's worth noting that even though he's a fringe player, no WC supporters were speculating on using him as trade bait or wanting him gone prior to him signalling his intentions.
we werent going to use 31West Coast have done well with this trade. I wouldn't have offered any more than a pick in the 40's for him.
we werent going to use 31
probably did it to get the deal over the line
Deal completed according to trade radio. Will be made official shortly.
Thanks for your service, reliability and willingness to stay with the club even when the go home factor was strong Matt Rosa. I'm sure he'll slot into the Gold Coast team smoothly. Don't think they would have given up 31 for him if they didn't rate him.
Tall midfielder which to be honest GC isn't stacked with, a lot of experience and leadership and will be an outside running presence in there team
hey we arent gws..Give us 35 as well then you buggers
You need depth to win premierships. We have improved our best 22, but harmed our depth. I would have preferred to hold on to him, given he would have been first man in, in event of injury. Even if he left for nothing next year, we would have developed some of our youngsters better to cover for his loss.Overs for us IMO
At 29 next season and already fringe - Rosa was offering little more than depth.
With the likely inclusion of Jetta, Redden, Duggan and Mackenzie to our best 22 from the GF - that pushes Rosa out of our best 25.
Getting 2nd round compo for him when I couldn't imagine he'd be with us in 2017 is a great deal for us.
As a good servant for our club - I hope he gets a good pay packet at the Suns and prospers.

I would rather Rosa as midfield depth than Hutchings. In the GF we effectively had 22 of our nominal best 23 playing. Perhaps Best 24.
We have depth - given the likely ins - Butler/Brown/Hill/Hutchings/Lycett will be all depth.

We should be ok, but I think he would have added more than what pick 31 has to offer.
