Is Matthew Nicks the right coach for Adelaide?

  • Firmly yes (I love what I'm seeing)

  • Leaning yes

  • Can't decide either way

  • Leaning no (but don't sack him yet)

It was cringeworthy.... Legitimately thinks we are only a few tweaks off from being a top 4 side.

"Internally, we look at a lot more data and make decisions upon"

:$ :$ :$ :$
It’s the same data that gets Murphy a game.

He is ******* delusional.

“We aren’t that bad”
“Few things haven’t gone our way”

How about admitting fickhead you have changed the gameplan and take ownership?????

WaynesWorld19 is this really the sound of a bloke you think should be leading us?!!

Cmon mate, fess up, you’ve blown your load over a bloke who is a fraud
My POV was pretty clear in the GB&U thread .....like everyone, I fumed over most aspects of the game, switching off at HT

However, it's 3 games .....IIRC we were as bad in the first two games of 2023

I would have thought the mark of a good Coach is how he navigates out of this horror show ......Michael Voss, in a similar situation last year, turned it around

So, I'm not making definitive statements on Nicks after 3 rounds, that you can't back away from .....you've cemented your position, brave or foolish ?

What does the club do if we are 0-7, 0-8 ?
How are they going to spin that ?
“We’ve put too much pressure on Matty by signing him early, we as a club publicly apologize to him for that and know he’ll fight his way out of it.”

Voss didn't start a season in a hole again though, he's kept the form going. Nicks has continually been 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

No it hasn't .....his team development to this point has been consistent .....up & down, like any young side ....however on the win /loss register, it's been year-on-year improvement

The situation of Voss last year, is the reference comparison to how Nicks handles a similar poor vein of form ......sorry if that's all too logical, and I'm not throwing a tanty

I’m just asking you a simple question, if he wasn’t signed, would you resign him at 0-3 and what you’ve seen?

Carlton I think we're 3 or 4 zip but then went on a run of losses from Gather round. So they were something like 3-5, they weren't where we are currently, especially with the 2 games we've got coming up.

What about the experienced senior players who have sucked, is that on the younger players, experienced players, coach who has changed the game plan?

Illogical premise .....you make the call on the body of work .....not on whether you win the next game

I'm going to guess that the "data" Nicks is referring to is something basic like xScore and that based on that metric we should have beaten Geelong if we kicked for goal to expected levels
If we had more skill we’d win?
We there’s players with more skill in the Sanfl Matthew.

After 4 rounds last year .....CARL were 3 wins & 1 Draw

Fast forward to Round 12 ....CARL win 1 of the next 8 .....so is he a good coach at this point or not ?

Body of work?

His coaching record is in the 30~ % range?
I didn't think anyone would mount that ridiculous argument in a full rebuild .....then again, there's always one
