You’re a clown Mutineer, when confronted with posts you can’t respond to you resort to your childish emojis
Yeah like the clown that suggested I hadn't read the article I posted, even going t the trouble of highlighting the the Blight quotes.

You're just anti the club, anti Nicks, anti Hamish and to put it bluntly you give me the shits.

Have a Merry Christamas Mr. Grinch.

You start your post with “The great man says….contrary to some on here”

What did you expect, a hug? Especially despite highlighting his quotes, he does not say anything about Nicks besides we need to play more attacking and he goes on about bringing players in the draft. What did Blight say that contradicted us?

And I am not anti the club, I’m an inaugural member, been to all grand finals and many interstate games.

I am anti some people the club has had in key roles because they’ve made costly shit decisions and been poor at their jobs contributing to us not winning a flag and in 25 years.

That involves actually forming opinions on individuals and not just blindly supporting them because the club employs them.

I am anti-some of Nicks selections and his game plan. He has done a good job with turning our culture around and player retention.
I am anti Hamish blowing 4 first rd picks, our average midfield and the fact he has been around for so long I believe we need a change. He has clearly picked some decent players too but 4 dud first rounders is going to kill us and I go back to Blights comments.

The difference between me and you is I actually have my own opinions, that involves negative and positive opinions, given our recent years there’s been a lot to be negative about.

You don’t have your own opinions, you just back in the clubs employees and won’t even acknowledge when they **** up or they’re faults, you’re effectively a cheerleader.

You highlighted a lot but did you actually read it?

He didn’t make any assessment on Nick’s coaching except we need to play more attacking.

What he talked about is rebuilding teams and the focus on drafting, he basically said you need to get your top picks right. We know we have had some misses, so we can blame your mate Hamish if we don’t get there ;)

I was looking for the glowing appraisal of Nix too. Especially after Blight canned him early in the year and then retracted after being invited to the club for a chat. Blight repeating a couple of my recent posts. You need to get those picks right and they need to be the right type of player. We desperately need Rachele and Rankine to become elite mids. We’ve done really well with our second rounders, but all our well spent first rounders of the last decade are forwards. Not a single mid among them.

Mutineer what are you actually disagreeing with?

Did Blight specifically talk up Nicks or was it more about what he needed to do and rebuilding sides and accumulating talent through the draft? Did he said you can get an outlier good player with later picks but you need your top end.

I can’t see what you can possibly disagree with?

Didn’t Bicks post that blight had lost it and was just chasing headlines anyway?

Thats what I don’t get, he was so eager to come in here and stick it up us he didn’t even take the time to comprehend what Blights comments were, instead he focused on the headline.

What you mean is I have a different opinion to the one you hold.

Anyone that disagrees with you gets the usual bullshit re backing the club blah blah blah....no we just don't see everything negatively that's the difference.
Nicks has done an excellent job to now putting in place a great culture and put in place a good blend of assistants and contrary to you I expect it will start to bear fruit in 2023.

Please provide some negative commentary on Nicks, Hamish and the club. Surely you don’t think they are perfect?

What do you mean contrary to me? I’ve already said we will improve and have to be pushing finals in 2024. You effectively read into my posts what you want to read.

I'm skeptical about any development from the Crows in 2023, as has been noted by many on here, we've blown too many first round picks on what have turned out to be 'project players' - I would argue that's fine for round 2 onwards, but a 1st round player really should be much closer to being a ready made footballer. I'm particularly cautious about our midfield, it strikes me as very 'same-same' in regards to player type, with a heavy focus on people playing their role and no room for flair or X-factor. We also seemed to be determined to play a few players last season out of position (or not at all), and are particularly shallow with regards to players with outside class.

i see our rebuild goal as being able to compete for the bottom part of the 8. Basically no different to our long held strategy as described be Trigg.

Nah, I don’t think the club wants that. Straight up not in our best interests

I do reckon the club has overly high expectations of where our current youth (at their peak) will be able to take us to at their peak. Still need a few more pieces to raise that ceiling to where it needs to be

But that’s irrelevant to Nicks, so I won’t blab on about that here

As long as keays is in our midfield we are going no where. Not that excited about next season.

That’s just a comment you keep repeating and is just ridiculous. Our “goal” is to just make the 8 - nonsense.

That doesn’t mean you can’t be right - as we have missed a few first rounders in our bottom out phase - but to keep repeating it’s our goal is just anti club rubbish

What evidence in anything the club has said suggests it’s our goal ?

Selection tells me this, we’re already down the continuity path. We’ve always been happy as long as we’re competing for a spot in the 8. What evidence do you have that our overarching philosophy has changed?

I stopped reading that article at the line about McAsey being one to watch in 2023.
Well he is definitely the one to watch because the upcoming season will be the decider as to whether he has an AFL career or not, currently it's not looking good that said.

So what will be a pass mark for Nicks in his fourth season, and what will satisfy the Crows faithful?
For a club that hasn’t really ever “bottomed out” the Crows fans have been pretty patient with the side over the past couple of years, despite claiming their first wooden spoon in 2020.
But the only man to bring AFL premiership glory to West Lakes, Malcolm Blight, said their patience might soon be rewarded.
“The thing with the Crows, if you look at nearly everyone who has bottomed out – and everyone has in the existence of the AFL except Geelong – what it does it takes three or four years to start the swing back,” he told News Corp.

“You just need to get a number of draft picks (in the door).
“If you can get those picks in the top 30, that first round and a half in drafts. It just seems to me if you can net a number of those it is really big.
“All you need is five (really good) players over a period of those three to four years, if they are the right ones they drive you to the top four and games are on again and you can hopefully win one.
“Recruiting and drafting has become so much better by clubs so it will take you three or four years before you get going again.
By Blight’s logic the Crows should be right at this stage going into 2023.

So club legend says rebuilding teams take 3 or 4 years to start the upswing. Crows are entering the 4th year of the rebuild and are now in that window. Journo applies 'Blights logic' and makes Bicks cream his pants with a headline which says "Malcolm Blight says Mathew Nicks will justify the faith of the Crows hierarchy"

Ahhhh the Advertiser.
