i said the same thing when i woke up and read the age article. it also said morton for pick 19 and i no joke threw up a little in my mouth.

but it turns out its 19 for mcmahon and 35 for morton. the mcmahon deal may be sweetened a bit as well by the bulldogs with shuffling of later picks.

Considering the season McMahon had when he was in and out of the Dogs side, and the top 20 in this draft is rated very highly, Greg Miller has massively overpaid once again, and not for the 1st time.

I thought they were meant to be rebuilding with kids, and now they are only going to have their 1st round pick, since they've traded their next 2. Doesn't make much sense for me.

Richmond are soft. Due to age, playing style or whatever the reason, they are soft. On their own terms they can be reasonably effective, but some genuine heat in the middle and an onball unit who contests well and they fall apart. If they were going to give up too much, at least get an inside midifielder or some big bodies.

And McMahon isn't even the biggest squib they picked up today!!

Coughlan should be back next year to provide a bit of grunt and steel to the onball unit and along with Foley should win plenty of hard contested ball around the stoppages.
