The ridiculous part is he comes from club land, he knows how it works. A coach, their players and a CEO are not going to sit there mid-point of a season with unprecedented injuries and Covid illness and say "yeah I think we missed an opportunity to get really fit over the Christmas break".
We needed to be selling hope and get bums on seats as our income stream is linked tightly to how well we can pack out Optus. That's just standard footy practice, and then you review in depth at the conclusion of each season.
At that point we've understood that despite injuries, illness and rushing players back underdone because we had no one else to choose from, that yes our aim to set a good fitness base in the off season was missed.
That Simmo and Shuey have now suggested where there's smoke there's fire isn't conceding that the players all slacked off over Xmas, but it's more a general statement that our preseason fell apart with injuries and illness and eventually we had to bring guys like Yeo back before he was fit and firing just to try and get our season on track or not have it be a complete waste.
Kanes search for validation is pathetic, not least of which because he knows a good club wouldn't publicly wave the white flag mid-year, and that the full understanding of a teams fitness may not be unearthed until some hard questions were asked when it was all said and done.
His big 'gotcha' moment isn't really anything as big as he hoped it would be. But for better or worse, the rhetoric has lit a fire in a few bellies, so cheers Kane you drongo.
Definitely JJones , his follow up and takling efforts where a rare sight amongst our lot last year.

I would think JD will start where he has all century CHF and Allen will be the FF.
Don't think both Hewitt and Ginbey will both play, definitely won't both start on the ground.
JJ was one of my favs from last year and really was attacking from HB so think he will do the same this year so him in for West/Hewitt.
Shuey will play on ball.
Also SPS could start HFF.
They pretty much got the 22 right just positioning is a little off in my mind.

We've all played with those types of blokes though, stand outs at training but don't produce enough in actual matches.
I tried to be more consistent by producing at neither.
I don’t think Witherden is a lost cause. I reckon he’d kill it in a good side if he was able to play an ideal role to suit his skills.

I still wonder to this day what Brander must think of his decision to leave us for more "opportunities" at GWS, given that we offered him a 2 year deal and he would have played every single game last year (if healthy) due to COVID. And that he got the axe from GWS after a single year there

Just a curious observation...I see Ryan Daniels on my twitter TL fully across Freo intra-clubs all pre-season, but hear nothing from him on WC intra-clubs...

He has been in the press conferences. Eliza Reilly asked one of the players about JD suing Rhino straight after Rhino asked a question. Was pretty awkward.
