The poster and I already came to the consensus that I took his comment out of context. It's all good. I know my team is starved of successDone zero since 1964? Stones, glass houses much?
They should have been given st.kildas fixture. For a team that finished on top at the end of the home and away season they have somehow got a gift.Port also still has a lot to prove, their only good win was against you guys the others are North (18th) St kilda (16th) Carlton (13th) and Essendon (12th).
But because of the fixture they really shouldn’t finish outside the top 2, so should be a good show for the GF.
Honestly Port only have 3 difficult games away from home all year, they have been given a very fortunate fixture. Also their only difficult double up is the Bulldogs. This coming match in Brisbane is one of the few challenges they have been given, and even then Brisbane is depleted.
They failed the first test so lets see how they go in Brisbane, if they bomb this there might be some questions about their ability to beat quality opposition away from Adelaide. There next chance to prove themselves after this weekend won’t come until the final round, so this is an important match for Port in my opinion.
Yeah and just like I predicted, they failed. They only have one more chance to prove they can beat a decent team away from Adelaide and that isn’t until the final round. Can’t win a premiership if you can’t beat a good team at the mcg. They should have been given st.kildas fixture. Our games are always hard fought, next week will no doubt be the same. As for port I do rate them but yes not the same team away from Adelaide, that’s now 2 maulings they’ve received outside of their home.Yeah and just like I predicted, they failed. Not that Geelong is one to talk after the crap we dished out tonight, you guys will destroy us next week.
You severely overrate Geelong to have them as the third best team in it.Plenty of teams a realistic chance to win the flag this early in the season, IMO in order of favouritism > Richmond, Port Adelaide, Geelong, Brisbane, Bulldogs, Melbourne, West Coast, GWS, Sydney, St.Kilda, Essendon, Fremantle, Carlton, Gold Coast, Hawthorn, Collingwood, Adelaide, North Melbourne.
And they didn't try that against Melbourne?Still backing in the Dogs. Richmond had to dig deep and unleash their flag-winning style in that second half, Dogs should learn from that.
They’ll save it for the prelim like West Coast didAnd they didn't try that against Melbourne?
meh, we are a different team nowThey’ll save it for the prelim like West Coast did
I've written them off. If your back six can't deal with long, high, predictable entries than you'll never get near a flag. The dogs might bat deep in midfield but their key position players are average at bestStill backing in the Dogs. You could be right, as you can see I'm putting are fair bit of emphasis on last years form, the Dees and Dogs have been great early but I'm yet to be convinced that either are flag favourites, the Tigers still clear favourites IMO FWIW.You severely overrate Geelong to have them as the third best team in it.
Their window is closed. They're old, slow and unimaginative.
They didn't have one teenager in their team against Sydney, who had two. Melbourne have three playing today.
Geelong were Dad's Army when we beat them in a final in 2018. They walked off with loser's limp then and they're older now.
Keath is getting destroyed. Cordy was such a liability that I saw Keath having to take on two players at once.I've written them off. But they beat you guys 15 rounds before finalsThis thread going well
Yer ... By 4 scoring shots. But they beat you guys 15 rounds before finals
My point was that it’s pretty early in the season to rule out teams for one loss to another top 8 side.Yer ... By 4 scoring shots.
