From my confirmation email....

"Priority 1 Member Allocation - There are sufficient tickets to cover all members in this group who register. Should West Coast Eagles play, you will be allocated a ticket (subject to payment being approved and ticket preference selected at time of registration).

Priority 2 Member Ballots - A successful registration does not guarantee a ticket. Should any tickets remain following Priority 1 allocations, Priority 2 registrants will be allocated tickets (subject to availability and payment being approved). These allocations will run as a ballot."
This suggests that there are enough tickets for P1, but not necessarily enough reserved seats , and that the guarantee only applies if standing room is included .

They don't know how many P1 people will register in advance, so I think they put the standing clause in "just in case" - but as not every P1 member registers, it's unlikely they will need standing allocation for them.

It does seem unusually low, particularly because a lot of iTW members became full seated members at the new stadium this year, meaning that there are a lot more seated members who could put in for the ballot (I think previously it used to be only those ITW plus members who could nominate for the ballot). In previous ballots, the demand for tickets has outstripped the number of tickets easily...

May be we stop here for the time being and revisit this after the Prelim. If we are good enough to be in the GF, we can do a simple survey to find out a bit more on the results of ticket allocation on Tuesday, 25th Sept.
Then we are in a position to conclude if "past predicts the future" is better than "current data to describe current situation".

So penalise people for where they live even though they probably have a better chance of getting there than perth people??
I’m a 28 year member the last 6 interstate so should I be given a less chance?

Point taken. I guess I mean more so in reference to being category 1. An interstate member shouldn’t get category 1 over and 11 game member. Heck I don’t believe there should be category 1 all together but that’s another issue.

OK, so I have a flexi membership and will need my barcodes to get Prelim tickets Monday morning at 9am.

Question, Will these get emailed by the club tomorrow (Sunday) or have we just slipped through the system?

As a side note all yes all flexi members normally get weekly barcodes emailed prior but never this late...…… getting a tad worried.

I suspect it’s because our opponent was only known last night (so it’s different to the home and away season or even week 1 of the finals which had a bye ). I don’t think any members have received an email about the Prelim specifically yet . I’m expecting an email today . Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning :)
Edit - looked back at old emails and noticed that the information about 2015 Prelim tickets was sent on 21/09 for a 22/09 sale .

Haven't received an email yet, just dropped in here to reassure myself that I haven't been left out of the loop. Expecting something this arvo.

Curious, why not have the ballot drawn before the prelim results?

Scenario - all four clubs in the prelim are allocated same number of seats (eg. 15,000) - no sliding scale of allocation. Ballot drawn, members notified whether successful (or not), once prelim results are finalised then successful accounts are debited. God forbid the allocation is not exhausted, make a public offering.

Yeah it could be flawed but seems simple but it would allow people extra time to make travel arrangements etc.

Oh for what it's worth, my booking: 12:12pm (actually was 2:12pm EST) - 1236-1237 (no standing option)

I'm so glad that they don't use this system, because it would further reduce the already low allocation for the competing GF clubs
Also though I have flights/accommodation booked, they're both flexi so I don't have to (and won't actually) be in Melbourne if we don't win next week. The current allocation for each competing club isn't far off 15k so there's no way I'd want to drop that to 7-9k per club.

ahh sorry MWPP, meant that only 15000 tickets are actually physically allocated to each GF clubs (the 15k for each prelim team would only be a virtual allocation and would become null if unsuccessful)

Glad the email finally arrived earlier today :)
