He did mention all the new coaches, including having stalwarts in clarkson and lyon back.
No mention of Scott
Salty AF. Switching off from 360 for the year.
I did notice he skipped scott.
360 is only half good when the footy is actually back. Though to be fair, it’s gone downhill fast in the past couple years, Robbo has got zero clue and whateley has turned into an ambulance chaser since he’s joined sen.

He's salty af because he had to scrap all the Hird redemption fluff pieces he had planned

There will most likely be a few essendon hit pieces or shock reports this year.
I'd reckon the Hird/Sheedy group might come out a bit to try and cause some momentum against the current group.
Especially if on field results are poor.

Was he ever going to do anything else? If I’m not wrong he’s still the number one cheerleader for the Sheedy / Hird ticket
I've got no doubt they'll be working through Robbo to undermine Scott and the current setup in preparation for another tilt in two years or so. Probably slight jabs this year then get serious about if we're still near the bottom next year.

Nah, I'm confident that's it, done and dusted. Besides, didn't Hird crack it with the club after the interview/process?
Allegedly Barham double crossed Hird and Sheedy to sure up his numbers when he challenged Brasher.
I reckon as long as Hird's fit and healthy he will have the burning desire to lead the club - it's his life's passion - he underplays it, but it's pretty clear to see.

Yeah idk I was expecting it to be more of a personal attack. As Robbo himself said, "we're not dumb, we can see they're young". Don't think stating the bleeding obvious is a hanging offence. Everyone has said it... and will continue to say it.

After the way last year ended you don't go from 'crappy team finishes so poorly that the administration throws all the toys out of the cot' and then decides... oh you know, we haven't brought in any blue chip players, the kids are mostly injured all pre-season, and the coach has been here 4 months. But... anything is possible.

If being a young team is stating the bleeding obvious, so is the fact of us being no better than ordinary this year 🤣

I reckon Beery is right, the club has taken away all the low hanging fruit he was planning to write about the club, the return of Hirdy for one, but also how Scott and/or everyone else at the club is delusional about our prospects, how young the team is (stated as a mid-season revelation and excuse after a run of poor games), all that easy stuff. I'm sure he has a few lined up taking shots at the new president too.

What's a poor Essendon supporting hype merchant to do, with 4 hours of television to fill and two(?) columns to write every week?
He just annoys me. Had the opportunity to start with a clean slate and focus on new coaching roles for the obviously young group. Chose to whinge and moan instead. He would have loved to write the story later in the year bemoaning that the new coach told us to dream big or whatever, when our young side isn't justifying the dream. No one but Hird can win with Robbo. He should just p*** off.

So you think they'll ease into the jabbing and ramp it up again when Hird gets back in?

Just having a look at the fixture i see no reason why we shouldn't be aiming to realistically win our 1st 4 games. Nothing about Hawthorn (MCG), Suns (Marvel), Saints (MCG) or GWS (Marvel) should feel like a daunting task. Melbourne (AO) in round 5, yes a big challenge, but you'd hopefully have some momentum by then, especially with a soft opening month

Got to try and be realistic. We won 7 games last year. If we’re 2-3 after the Dees, I think that’s a great result. The next 2-3 years shouldn’t be entirely about W’s and L’s either - if we win 5 games, play 20 games at 100% effort and find some young kids in the process, that should be considered a win for the year.

Is the club still selling grand final guarantee membership add ons?

I think i am being realistic saying the first 4 are winnable.

Winable? Maybe.

I'd say we go in underdogs against St Kilda and GC for sure and GWS would be pretty even.

I'd say 3-7 after 10 is a good result.

Rounds 5 -10 is a tough stretch. Melbourne (AO), Pies (MCG), Cats (MCG), Port (AO), Bris (Gabba), Rich (MCG). 3-7 after 10 would not be surprising but wouldn't call it a good result. Id call 5-5 a good result.
