Maybe talk to Smiddaz, think he must be Anthonys manager.

Been to Pies board and many there divided about him. Many just say like you, thats he's pretty pathetic.

No one on Freos board or with half a brain is divided about Tarrants ability.

No surprise, people get a bit silly withthe value of players come trade week.

Considering Taz will walk into the PSD if they don't get a trade.....

What would you think is fair considering age, injuries and out of contract status?

I was talking about Anthony. Why does he have to revamp his game when his game was clear best 22 when fit?

Also, Wellingham played was an inside midfielder before this year, just not as much time was spent there as this season. He also went head to head with midfielders, with success, and that is all he has done this year. He has never been a negating tagger.

His game style hasn't changed. He just needed to get physically ready for playing full time in the midfield. This isn't revamping his game, it's natural progression for a player.

You should call him and tell him where you put his Premiership medal because he cant find it.

He went backwards massively this year and in the games he did get he was horrendous. Compare his VFL stats to say Matt Little and I think you have your answer as to why Fremantle arnt interested. Both lead up forwards, one is worth Chris Tarrant, the others worth pick 80.

Right simple question.

Everyting else being equal and everyone at Pies is git and have equally good preseasons.

Does he get a gig in best 22?

Not sure whether this is in the thread but looks like deal all but done.

Fremantle has asked Collingwood for pick No. 43 in exchange for Tarrant, who has said he would retire rather than join another club. That pick is Collingwood's first live choice in the draft, given the Magpies traded pick 25 for Andrew Krakouer and ruckman Jon Ceglar.

The third-round compensation pick the Pies yesterday received following Josh Fraser's move to the Gold Coast may come into play instead. Fremantle, which traded pick 55 to the Gold Coast on Thursday for VFL defender Peter Faulks, may also end up receiving that choice back from Collingwood, which got it as part of the Krakouer-Ceglar-Gold Coast trade.

Anthony played at full back in the VFL. He wasn't a lead up forward apart from a bit early in the season. So I'm unsure why we're comparing his stats to Matt Little.

Like I said, his game style was good enough to perform as our number one KP forward. He doesn't need to change the way he plays. Dawes performed well in the side, and didn't deserve to be dropped from his position. This made it hard for Anthony, and he played as a flanker most of the time when he got given his chance at AFL. That isn't his position, he isn't a good flanker. He's a good FF. He wasn't given a chance there this year.

Right simple question.

To be honest this is the exact sort of trade that only hindsight will predict.

Tarrant could very well do an inury pre-season and thats all she wrote. He could just as equally get his body right and be straight back there as top 5 FB in comp.

What annoys me is he only wants to deal with Pies, effectively shutting out any sort of bidding "war".

What's he worth with teams fighting for him like Hawks, Carlton and Pies? I honestly believe if these clubs fought it out we'd be offered the highest 2nd rounder and a young but not required player.

When your management come out and say he will retire, he only wants to play for Pies etc, well no shit they could offer us a bag of dirt.

Freo are being reasonable in asking for pick 43, completely reasonable. If we got Blight as well as he seems likely to be not required well maybe thats a bonus project we could develop.

Quite simply no.

If trade week finished right no with the current trades being the only ones....

Collingwoods best 22 from the GF would have 1 change.....

IN: Krakouer
OUT: Blair or Goldsack (Blair for me)

Who does he replace?

This should be funny.

Fair enough.

I'm thinking.....Fraser Compo + Blight for Tarrant

Smiddaz: Who would he replace in the current 22?
When Tarrant joins the club I highly doubt he would be playing VFL for $500,000 a year or whatever the club wants to pay him. So Tarrant will probably be ahead of Anthony in the 22.

As some of the collingwood posters have said with Dawes, Cloke, Reid, N.Brown, L.Brown, Jolly and now Tarrant do you honestly think Anthony will be able to make the side, barring any injuries.

I'm thinking something like:

Freo: Gain: Griffin, Blight | Lose: Tarrant
Coll: Gain: Tarrant | Lose: Compo or Pick 43, Blight (Apparently being delisted anyway)
Adel: Gain: Fraiser's Compo or Pick 43 | Lose: Griffin

Same thing.

We get pick 43 or compo pick and Blight.

Use that pick to get Griffin.

So no need for the 3 way trade unless other movements in picks take place.

I think your on the money silverscope!

Good to see that fans of other teams understand the value of players and the trade process.

I think Anthony would be the perfect player for us to use for the new substitute role.

What's with the arrogant laughter and random insults? Seriously, is it that hard for you to just discuss a topic

So now he just sits on the pine waiting?

But you had him in for Goldsack, yet you maintain he should be played at FF as thats where he's best.

Yet Goldsack doesnt play up forward.

So where does he fit in? Oh on the pine... sorry you just said that.

Tarrant comes straight into best 18, so he takes Goldsacks spot.

No way in hell does Anthony start in front of Tarrant and see Tarrant play VFL.

Who does Tarrant replace in the 18? Goldsack is not in the 18.

Hope thats not in reference to me.

I've been totally real and this joker Smiddaz is still maintaining that Anthony is best 22, now has him sitting on the pine as the substitute.

Has him replacing Goldsack in best 22, yet saying he plays best at FF.

All over the shop Smiddaz

So what? If Anthony is the team's substitute he can go to any position he wants. FF preferably, he has shown an ability to play in the backline as well. If any KP player is struggling or goes down injured, Anthony can take their spot. He's the only KP player we have that I'd feel comfortable being a KP at either end.
