Has him replacing Goldsack in best 22, yet saying he plays best at FF.

And since when do players have to be like for like changes? Anthony replacing Goldsack clearly doesn't mean he takes over Goldsack's exact role.

So what? If Anthony is the team's substitute he can go to any position he wants. FF preferably, he has shown an ability to play in the backline as well. If any KP player is struggling or goes down injured, Anthony can take their spot. He's the only KP player we have that I'd feel comfortable being a KP at either end.

You must love JA.

I think Ben Reid & N.Brown could play up forward.

Lets not forget that Presti is mosre than likely still gonna be around.

JA is dead weight.

Our 22 from the GF would have 1 change and for me that would be Krakouer for Blair.

Love Blair but Krakouer is a more polished player....simple.

Allow Shaw, Reid, O'Brien to provide more run.

Maxwell can orgainse, fill a hole and do what he does.

Toovey would also be looked at in terms of best 22.

For 2 days you have been singing this blokes praises. Now all of a sudden he conveniently is the sub. Despite you going on about how good he is. Now he just waits in line.... like he did all year in the VFL.

They dont have to be like for like at all. But you said he plays best at FF. Ok fair enough. He replaces Goldsack. Fair enough.

Toovey is our best shutdown player for medium sized and small forwards, he will not be dropped, Tarrant will be used off the bench as a utility IMO, Goldsack will make way for him if we land Taz.

Ideally he would be playing KPB but we don't want to hinder Reid/brown's development, at least now we got someone who can handle Le Cras one week and Franklin the next if needed.

He is not best 22. He is next in line, that never came about this year.

He is not good enough to force his way back in.

Smiddaz has him in best 22 at FF for replacement of Goldsack.

Anthony will only play in Pies line up 2011 if injuries occur, not because he's best 22.

I can't see Dawes, Cloke & JA in the same side.

Goldsack is felxible enough and has plenty of speed to play multiple roles.....JA doesn't!

We have a heap of guys like Beams, Sidebottom, Didak etc who will rotate through there though at times. Anthony has the ability to overtake Dawes.

Anthony is a weird guy, and apparently has a dodgy attitude. That's what may hold him back. His ability is fine.

That's fine, it's your take on it. The 2009 Anthony would definitely be in our side though imo, he was performing better than Cloke was. That JA is ahead of Dawes as well for mine. I'd have no confidence in either Brown and Reid up forward, FWIW.

We wouldn't all I was saying was both those boys could play at either end (like JA appently can).

And with Tarrant & Presti as backup defender come forward (Taz) Anthony would be 3rd in line for a KPD spot and 2nd in line for a KPF spot.

Dawes is a friggen beast, as good overhead, great below his knees, big tank, good work ethic, highly agile for his size. Critical to our future.

Agree with you re Anthony, in the right age bracket for GC and they prefered Fraser.

Ross Lyon rejected pick 30 AND Tyson Goldsack in exchange for Luke Ball!

If I recall correctly, the Pies tried a final effort before the deadline where they were going to trade Wellingham to St Kilda for Ball. That too, was rejected by Lyon.

Wellingham had the exact pace that Ross Lyon had been longing to inject into his team.

If he makes either of those trades, St Kilda win the first Grand Final and history is changed forever.

But Ross in his infinite wisdom and in a fateful egotrip, rejected the premiership and confined his team to runners up.

Freo, take notice and don't suffer from the same fate.

Why is it stupid? Dawes only picked up form in the second half of the season while JA was consistent all year for us last year.
