He was the definition of goal sneak. Much as I don't like him personally as I recall he worked hard to get himself in good positions and was clean enough and skilled enough to make the most of his opportunities. Was able to play for a team in an era where he had more space to work in inside 50. But just a real study in how to read the play and get in the right position. Plus his direct defenders were scared of getting sexually assaulted (or flat out assaulted) if they had their back to him.

He probably wouldn't be a thing if Fantasia didn't get injured putting his boots on.
With us losing every game the rest of the year, the only (slim) chance of not getting Hinkley another contract, I think Jed should be a lock for the remainder of 2023.

There are many issues with playing McEntee.
The main one is that he doesn't kick goals.
The secondary one is that he doesn't work nearly hard enough up and down the ground to contests. Considering he came to the Power as a SANFL midfielder, its hard to swallow.

McEntee also has what I think is an odd free kick stat.
Was poking around who has the worse free kick differential, looking for something that might partially explain our overall big negative count.
This year Jed is -10, from 20 games, with a 9.2 disposal average. 20 frees against/10 for. Essentially gives away one net free kick every 9 disposals.
I think only SPP and AA have a similar net-frees-against-to-disposals ratio but obviously those two bring much more value and impact for the risks they take.
I’ll leave this for the stats nerds to ponder.

Because if it's 'defensive pressure', that can actually be measured by stats and McEntee is at best slightly above average at it but nowhere near the best small forwards in the league.

If they are measured, they just have the word "implied" put on them so standing around anywhere on the field can be registered as a stat.

Get rid of him. Gives us nothing much positive in attack. Wont take shots on goal and handballs under pressure in our forward line usually straight to oppo.
Just doesnt have AFL skill levels and is exposed big time in pressure of finals. Is a trier at best.
