Such as frustrating game, really missed Libba, but our bottom talent was just awful tonight. Gallagher and Lobb in particular and I wasn’t impressed with either of Harmes and Daniel.

Darcy was excellent for 3 quarters but was clearly tired in the last, Garcia and West also did some nice things but that West inside 50 in the last was horrible.

-30 in scores for turnover was the game in the end and we just handed it to them time and time again and often under no pressure.

We had a red hot go. Don’t underestimate their heart tonight. Daniel and Dureay look past it but I am not writing off their careers just yet. We obviously missed too many shots, purely mental, ever Sir Bont. Decision making at times was off, Libba will help with this because he is intuitive. Dumb football by Weightman. With so much tall talent up forward there will be heaps of crumbs but we need crumbers to capitalise. Clarke, Bendeno, Jones??
Garcia and West looking good.
Apart from about 4 of them it didn’t look like most the team was having a red hot go. Missed tackles, lack of spread and moment, no intensity. If they’d had a red hot go they would have won because freo nearly did everything to hand us that game up till the last two mins

Let's not pretend this diabolical shitness started in the 3rd qtr of the 21 granny. Remember we lost to the flipping saints the year before, a side we had covered by 25 goals on paper. The year before that, we lost by 10 goals to a side we beat 3 weeks earlier by...10 goals. We've had the same issues for 7 years, not 3.

So blame the players? Our off field leadership is our problem - starting with the coach.
We lack on field leadership too. There's clearly Bont, there's Naughton maybe, there's Duryea maybe. Then who?

Jones? Richards? I dunno. I just can't see it out there.

You think if we sacked the coach now we could make finals?
I didn't say sack the coach now...did I? I said sack the coach several seasons ago if you want to go back and check what I think should have happened.

There is no point in sacking Beveridge right now, but this simply must be his final season. We should be planning for change in earnest right now so we have a viable alternative at the season's end.

well be paying our third tall forward a milly a year for 8 years

Darcy rapidly becoming more reliable than Naughton who has already been passed by jamarra
I find this a pretty weird stance. Naughton gets the best defender every week. He also kicked six goals last week. Sam was great tonight. Marra has been decent this year. But, Naughton has been our number one forward all year and has had the oppositions best defender all year. Naughton back/forward is an argument, this statement not so much.

Choose your poison:

1. Buku - great by hand and foot. $hithouse body on body and fumbles a lot. Costs us goals

or

2. Gardner or Keath. Ok body on body, can spoil. $hithouse by hand and foot. Costs us goals.

Not sure what is our least worst option.

Mentally fragile and weak, poor skills, poor connection, poor strategy, too many below average players. We knew Freo had copped it all week and professional sides know that, rise and get the job done, we're too soft to do that.

I can't be alone in saying that I've checked out of this season already. 3-4 but we're so unwatchable and frustrating. Why? Because you know we can do so much better, but we're being held back by incompetence and ineptitude.

2 of our leaders are Duryea and Daniel. Both of whom need to be moved on.

Our former vice captain also a shell of their former selves.

Bont, Naught, Libba, Richards… not much else there, maybe Darcy on due course.

Well what the **** did you reply to me for pal? I was responding to a guy who said we could still make finals if we sacked the coach, so not sure what you're on about.

Wonder what the smarty pants social media group will come up with this week after we bashed up on a broken St Kilda last round.

We needed a proper second key defender, not two inexperienced third defenders, one who got bumped and turned inside out and failed to read balls, and another who basically didn't influence the game defensively at all.

I don't think it was total disaster. They played very well, they got Fyfe to turn back the clock which they basically won't have for any other game this season. We missed Libba. Umpiring was crap. It's a bit disappointing but it doesn't end our season or anything. Throw in the in-game Weightman injury as well, which threw our forward balance off.

Gallagher has run his race and gotten his development in you'd think the other wing types like Baker or Scott should get a game. We have to think long and hard about whether Keath or Gardner could get a crack again in defence.
