If I had to guess I would say that the deal will be done for pick 16. Because what we also have to consider is the ramifications of this situation for the future (if Clarke was to go into the PSD). If we are seen to be uncooperative with rival clubs it could very well impact on future negotiations with other players (e.g Jager) if their manager is in their ear saying that Freo may leave them out to dry if things don't go their way. So the outcome of this trade has the potential to affect future homesick west aussies. Therefore even though he would in all likelihood fall to us in the PSD I very much doubt that it will come to that.

Players will be only be eligible for restricted free agency after 8 years though, and the player's original club can choose to match it. Unrestricted free agency is after 10 years, by then a player would be 28-29.

I forgot about that! You'd have to think that you guys are just 'too tied up with this deal' and you could just play the hand that you didn't have time to organise a deal for him which would most likely see the Lions pick up Huddo in the PSD. Heck, he announced his retirement - it's not as if the dogs are going to hold off on delisting him for a compo pick..

yep ok keyboard warrior, I have been reading this thread all day keen to see if the deal comes off just like everybody else, have read Port is super keen on Griff, and do know they picked up Renouf. Maybe they would still want Griff as well, don't know just a thought, but thanks for your attitude as well champ!
