Unless GC are set on drafting Lukosius (and assuming GC get pick #3 as Lynch compo and no pick #2/#4 PPs), maybe they can work on a daisy chain trade with GC that allows Blues to get Walsh, Gov and satisfy Crows with something like:

Gov to CFC ...
AFC pick #8 to GC ... AFC 2019 r1 pick to GC ...
CFC 2019 r1 pick to GC ...
GC pick #2 to AFC

Would actually prefer something like:

Gov to CFC ...
AFC pick #8 to GC ... AFC 2019 r1 pick to GC ...
CFC 2019 r1 pick to GC ... CFC pick #1 to AFC ...
GC pick #2 to CFC

since if AFC want Lukosius and CFC want Walsh, it shouldn't matter whether it's pick #1 or #2 but Crows paying so much should get a guarantee of Lukosius.

We give up McGovern, pick 8 and a pick between 6 and 18. We are giving up way too much.

Gold coast make out like absolute bandits in those deals. Lose pick 2 and end up with 3 first rounders with one likely to be 1 or 2 next year.

It's effectively Crows paying two mid r1 pick (#8 & Gov) and a late r1 pick (hopefully) for Lukosius.

We have to pay the value ... plus some carrot to make a club wanna do it.

Interesting that you think you’re able to speak on behalf of both.

Particularly as you are not
Sure.

Just like when you refer to a contracted player, you're not in possession of all the information with regards to his mindset, his attitude, his life (the other factors which could affect a trade) etc

I'm curious, though. You keep replying to me, and you seem to be rather interested in nitpicking rather than actually addressing anything of substance. Beyond a certain point, communication is meaningless unless both parties can agree to take each other at face value. I understand that I'm a visitor to your board, but I don't understand your apathy for conversation.

I'm basing what I'm saying on what I've read from the Carlton board on BF. You can discount that however you like, and you no doubt will, but if you're willing to label that as worthless I really do wonder whether you'd throw stones in glass houses too.

I'm assuming "we" is referring to the collection of morons on their board who actually believe their opinion has some kind of relevance to Carlton's interest in McGovern.
Or, alternatively, the initial post I quoted spoke directly of Carlton fans being excessively interested in McGovern, when that's not really the case.

You’re not knobbled by the health of your list put the people that are running it.
Yeah fair enough.
You would see our medical/fitness dept is called out a lot on our forum - not going unnoticed. And from what I understand Lloyd has highlighted this as a priority for him.
Sorry...bit off topic.

one from how many picks .....very low % ....but i can understand your excitement, with this outcome
Too be honest it’s the only one that came to mind without really thinking...my recollection of drafts isn’t great. I find the whole thing a bit of a lottery more than a science...if you know what I mean..

SOS is the BOSS you guys should know better than anyone
I'm so envious of the list he has put together. Reid & Haggis must really be looking up to SOS lol!

For McGovern to get to Carlton, they will need to trade pick 1 to get some greater assets.

I think they will need to somehow get their hands on the Gold Coasts Pick 2 and 3 if they want both Walsh and McGovern.

Their 2019 first round pick might even have to be chucked onto the table as well.
If Carlton traded pick #1 to GC for say pick #2 & pick #3 which they give us for Gov, GC would either pick Luko or Walsh... So one of us would miss out. Rankine would be a given though.

Why would their drafting strategy change?

I don’t think they take Welsh or Lukosius based on the go home factor.
