I outlined a possible inference, primarily in my attempt to reconcile his use of the word 'warned."
Your quite entitled to draw your own conclusion as to whether it is probable or otherwise; however it would strengthen your argument if you addressed his reference as to your club having been "warned" in your response.
Firstly, we're not lawyers here. Don't try so hard. Second, you know exactly what you were inferring by posting what you did. Don't pretend you came to another board to list hypothetical scenarios you don't really believe.

Would you say the circumstances are reasonably the same?
No, Gibbs had more of a need to get back to Adelaide... but Carlton didn't care.

Crows have a history of trading players for personal reasons - Cameron last year, Griffin to Freo, etc.

Speak for yourself...

Well on 5AA just before, McGovern was discussed at length and Rowe made many mentions that all the word coming out of the club is that they are really prepared to play hardball and they are very firm on that. Over to you SOS

SOS will walk away if need be, he has done it before to Adelaide.

Let it be known very clearly, Carlton Football Club are not desperate to trade for Mitch McGovern. Rather it is McGovern himself who is wanting out of the Adelaide Football Club.

It comes down to the author. If Gill had come out and said something then sure the club would be inclined to take notice. If its McGoverns manager using Barrett as a puppet then I say to Colin Young bring on Armageddon. He is the one that has enabled this instead of urging his charge to see out his contract. I would also seek to have Colin Young deregistered under Draft tampering

If it is Carlton, lol.

Yet here you are

Carlton cared about Gibbs, we valued him worth two first round draft picks. In 2016 you did not want to give them, but in 2017 you did. Gibbs publicly stated he was happy to stay, but preferred to go home; in the end he got his wish.

Can you guys hold off posting in this thread til at least Gov states which club he wants to go to?

Urgh. So many false with this.

Carlton valued him at way more than he was worth to extort Adelaide into not trading for him.
In 2017 Adelaide paid the equivalent of pick 10 ONLY given pick 16 2017 is not as good as Pick 19 2018. Derp.
Gibbs said this to keep the club holding him ransom happy - he knew SOS was a campaigner who might hold onto him just out of spite for a player wanting to leave. The same was done throughout the trade period to keep the Carlton lemming fans content with reporting such as he’s happy to stay, no discussion etc despite it being fairly obvious both sides were negotiating.

i agree, it comes down to the author; hence no inference was made as to whether Barrett had a valid basis for his comment.
In any case, I understand its a sensitive subject. No ill will was intended.

Let it be known very clearly that you have no idea what the Carlton football club intend to do. What you posted is nothing more than what you want or think should happen. Which is very, very different.

Ofcoarse they are, the Vics are trying to make it sound like this trade request is some kind of special case

Damo's (non)-sliding doors for this week:

If
Neale says he wants out ...

then
it's really simple. Tell him he's not going anywhere. There are certain times when the hard, brutal call has to be made, and for this club that time is now. If that means Neale sits out 2019, then that's his decision.

Freo player heading to Brisbane = Freo should take a stand and hold Neale to him contract.
S.A. player heading to a Victorian club = S.A. team should accept a late first/early second, and in our case not rock the boat.

Not even trying to hide the pro vic agenda anymore.

Bingo. Its been so obvious and blatant for years
